"Eomma, I am staying

"Eomma, I am staying." I hope she heard the resolve in my voice as I firmly said, "I said what I said." There was no way I was leaving her here and going to Seoul.

"Y/n-ahh, don't be ridiculous," she said, a hint of resilience in her voice. "I just hit my head, that's all! The doctor said I could go home tomorrow; there's nothing to be worried about. It's just an overnight stay." Her words were an attempt to persuade me, but I stood my ground, knowing that I had to make the right decision.

"I don't want to leave you alone!" I explained, hoping my words would help her understand my decision. Just then, we heard a knock on the door and turned to see Appa coming in with two cups of tea. "But she's not alone," he said, smiling warmly at her as he handed Eomma her cup.

My mom looked at him and smiled, whispering a small 'thanks'. "You should go, sweetie," my dad said, keeping a hand on my shoulder as he looked at me with full confidence. "You've worked hard for this." I paused, looking at Eomma, her face was calm, serene. "But, Eomma... I don't..." I trailed off.

"You don't have to worry about her," my dad cut me off, making me look at him. "I'll take good care of her. Don't you trust me?" he asked, as I looked at him.

"Yes," I said, but my voice was barely above a whisper.

"Then don't worry about her and go to Seoul." he said confidently.

I nodded, as I looked at both my parents, I couldn't help but wonder what the future held. Would I regret leaving my mother alone? Would something happen while I was away? Only time would tell, but for now, I had to trust my instincts and make the right decision. And I trusted my dad.

"Okay then," I finally said, my mother's face lighting up with excitement and happiness as my dad gave me an encouraging pat. "Good! Good choice, sweetie," she said. But I knew that it wasn't a choice. I had worked so hard to get into that university, and I couldn't disappoint them by turning down the opportunity. My mother would feel guilty and blame herself, and I didn't want that to happen.

We talked for a while, and then my dad looked at his watch, "Y/n, it's almost time for your train to come." My mom looked at me with a worried expression, I sighed, I was hoping they wouldn't notice but, oh well, my dad has hawk eyes.

I put on a mock offended face, "Wow, you guys just wanna kick me out as soon as possible, huh?", I watched my dad smile and hug me, "No, baby, we don't. However, you shouldn't miss your train." I sighed as dramatically as I could and nodded, "Okay, then... I guess I'll leave." I said, grabbing my bag. "Do you want me to drop you home?", I heard my dad say as I shook my head, if he came with me, then my mom would be all alone. "No, I can go by myself," I said, giving them each a hug as I walked to the door. "And appa, don't bore eomma with your jokes," I said, before rushing out of the room, hearing their happy, reassured laughs.

I went home, grabbed my suitcases, and hauled a taxi. "To the train station please." The driver started driving as I quickly sent a 'on my way to the station' text to my dad.

As I looked out the window and watched the city zoom past me, a sense of anticipation grew within me. I was leaving Busan, the only place I had called home for the past 18 years, and heading towards a new chapter in my life. I couldn't help but wonder what the future held for me. What kind of experiences, challenges, and opportunities awaited me in Seoul?

Leaving my mother behind at the hospital was not an easy decision, but I knew it was the right one. I had worked hard to get into university, and I couldn't let this opportunity slip away. As I settled into my seat on the train, I felt a mix of excitement and nervousness. The next few years would be challenging, but I was ready to face them head-on.

I couldn't wait to explore the city, make new friends, and immerse myself in new experiences. I knew that the journey ahead wouldn't be easy, but I was eager to embrace all the opportunities that came my way. As the train pulled out of the station, I closed my eyes and took a deep breath, feeling a sense of freedom and excitement coursing through my veins. The future was uncertain, but I was ready to take on whatever came my way.
