"There was no Plinth Prize." Solaris informed her parents, particularly her mother.
"What do you mean there was no prize Solaris." Her mother questioned.
"I'm saying the rules were changed and we have to prove that we deserve to win by mentoring tributes." Solaris answered back shakily.
Her father had stayed quiet the whole time staring at his daughter with an unknown look in his eyes.
"You mean those filthy animals we are forced to live amongst?" Octavia Cyprus screeched in disgust.
"They are just as human as we are, just because we're fortunate to be wealthy doesn't mean we are to look at them as animals." Solaris countered back confidently.
A loud smack echoed across the room, it was so loud it was as if it continued to bounce off the walls.
Octavia had struck Solaris across the face carelessly.
Solaris' had tears start to well in her eyes, before getting rid of them to stare deeply into her parents eyes.
"I did not raise you this way, I assume you got these suggestions from that no good Plinth boy. Stay away from him Solaris. I swear if I hear you say that again, the outcome will be worse." Octavia threatened.
