It had been a fun day for Thomas. He had gone to the mall to meet up with Nico. As they loved going there now. But something felt off to Thomas especially since he left Logan and their plans for the day. Everything seemed off since that day. But he was getting back on track. He wasn't going to let his personal life affect his new friendship and hopefully relationship with Nico. He was going to listen to his sides and get everything back on track to prove he was ready for a relationship. He went to the kitchen and started on the dishes but started hearing familiar voices. It was the sides talking about something without. He went to the living room and stood in his normal spot. " Okay what's going on? I felt something was off when with Nico." Thomas said worried about this. He looked at them all noticing it was also Remus and Janus this time. Which was unusual. Well Janus wasn't at this point. As he had been accepted last year and was getting into the swing of things with the other light sides. It was good but there was still a lot to do. As Virgil and Janus weren't getting along. There was a rift between Roman and Janus now as well. There were also issues between Logan and Janus but that would take time. They all looked at Thomas shocked he had heard them. They were all flustered as they thought about what to say. It was hard to talk about their feelings with their host. Since their feelings affected Thomas and each other. They all nodded once they had an idea on what to say to him. They all took a deep breath before they talked slowly letting it out. " Okay well today was rough for some of us." Janus said knowing it had been as they had all hurt each other a lot today. But the one who hurt them the most was Thomas. As Logan had lost it for the first time in years. It was never good when he did. The last time had brought a darker force than the ones around them to hurt them all. Thomas nodded understanding that. He noticed the four who had been hurt by the day's events. He noticed it all now. How Logan had seemed drained and upset with him. Virgil was panicked and exhausted by how he looked. Remus was happy but saddened by it all which was good yet bad he guessed. At least he wasn't causing problems right now. Or at least more problems.

But as Thomas looked around at them all he noticed something was off with one of his sides. It was with Patton. Happy Pappy Patton looked sad. Which Thomas hadn't seen since a year and a few months ago. When Patton had gone LilyPatton and fought Janus about Thomas's mental and emotional state. According to Janus, the wedding was really bad now. Because Thomas wanted the callback instead. He didn't want to go to the wedding. But he went anyway. Even if it wasn't what his heart aka Patton wanted in the end. " Um, what happened to Patton?" Thomas asked, wondering why Patton was upset. He looked at everyone else knowing he wouldn't get Patton to say anything. As Patton tended to hide his emotions from everyone, even Thomas himself. Patton really shouldn't do that though. He was trying to stop doing that but old habits die hard. Virgil cleared his throat making Thomas look at him. Virgil didn't realize it before but what he had been saying to Patton since the puppet episode had been hurting him a lot. He didn't mean to. It just happened and he didn't mean to do it. But it happened. There was no changing things now. " I may have upset him earlier." Virgil said, admitting to his mistakes. He had said something that he had meant to say to Patton but not in the way Patton had taken it. He meant it sarcastically. He did mean to say it to be mean. He just meant it as a joke to Patton. As he did treat them all and Thomas like his kids at times. Although he had found recently that he was. Virgil knew his past was a mystery. But he didn't know how big of a mystery it was to him until now.

That made Thomas curious as he looked at Virgil. He knew that Patton had been hurting since their Halloween Christmas video. But he didn't know who had been causing Patton's pain at that moment though. He had now figured it out though. Virgil told Patton that the nicknames were a lot for him. That they were too cutesy for him and not Virgil at all. Thomas did notice that they weren't Virgil at all. But he knew it was Patton. It was Thomas being Thomas as well. But he never used them. At least he wouldn't use them himself. " What do you mean?" Thomas asked wondering what Virgil had done to Patton to make him this upset. Virgil rubbed his arm, scared about telling him. Especially when Janus was in the room. He knew how protective Janus got of his partners. Janus was very protective of them. Virgil knew from experience. As he had argued with Patton a few days ago. Which they rarely did. But that's how he found out he was Patton and Janus's kid. It left him in shock until now. But he was better about it now even if it brought back bad memories. Bad memories about Patton. Bad memories about Janus and his early years. Bad memories about both of his parents and the others. But now the good outweighed the bad. As he was very happy with the light sides and Janus now. Things had gotten better just as he hoped. He just hoped now things would stay that way. He sighed knowing he had to tell Thomas at some point might as well be now. " I told him that it's good he was giving you permission." Virgil said knowing he shouldn't have said that but he was grumpy from being woken up. He didn't expect Thomas to go outside that day. He didn't even want to go out as he was hot. He didn't like the heat at all. But one of his parents loved it and needed it to survive which he found strange for himself. He brushed it off as he heard angry hissing from the half snake side. It frightened Virgil as he looked over at him. He saw Janus's snake eye glowing which wasn't good. At least it wasn't for him. He cowered in fear, scared about what Janus was about to say.

Janus then covered Virgil's mouth with the anxious side's own hand. He didn't want to be interrupted. Not while he was saying this. " Virgil, what have I told you about your father's way of being? He is sensitive and just wants to love people. He has a lot of love to give. He just wants to show that to you." Janus said knowing Virgil didn't mean to but it must have hurt Patton a lot more than Virgil knew. More than the rest of them knew as well. He knew better than that now after years. Actually decades away from Patton. He had hurt the cyan cladded side when they were young. When they were in a relationship as young sides. They were the first sides Thomas had. The first to arrive when Thomas was a baby. The ones who learned everything that his parents taught him. Those teachings didn't help them as a couple though. It made things hard for them. It's why they fell apart. Why Janus had left with Virgil and Remus. Why they haven't gotten back together. There were a lot of factors to everything between the three. Patton and Janus were working it out though. It was just going to take a lot of time and work on both of their parts. After that they can focus on working things out as a family. Virgil looked at the ground as his hand was released by Janus. " I'm sorry. Can we talk about this later? We should hear Thomas out." Virgil said wanting to not talk about family issues around Thomas and the other three sides. Especially around Roman. He didn't want to admit it but he had a crush on Roman and always has. Janus nodded knowing it wouldn't be a smart idea right now. Thomas was in shock as the others looked at them. He shook his head, snapping out of his daze. " We'll talk about this later. But right now. I'm sorry I let Remus get to Virgil today and you Logan. I'm also sorry for running off on you and our plans. I know it was a bad idea but I'm going to do it right now." Thomas said knowing he had been in the wrong when he left Logan and let Remus's actions get to him. Which had caused Virgil to get panicked and caused Thomas himself to panic as well. The three looked at Thomas wondering why he would have felt the need to apologize to them. It shocked them a bit. A host had never apologized to their sides before so it was new to them.

The sides got out of their shock soon after and looked at Thomas. To be honest they should've expected that. It was in Thomas's nature to apologize when someone he cared about got hurt by him. Or if his actions had hurt them. " Thomas, you shouldn't have to apologize to us for what happened." Janus said knowing he shouldn't have to. It was hard for them to accept this at times though. It was hard for them to accept that they weren't just Thomas's sides but their own people. That they had their own thoughts and feelings as well. That they were insecure and other things as well. But for most of them it was all about hiding that and keeping focused on Thomas's dreams. They were keeping focused on Thomas's goals. Thomas's hopes as well. Everything Thomas wanted for the future and his life was what they were focusing on. Instead of focusing on themselves and their well being. Instead of their mental states and insecurities. It was just normal for them. It was just what they were built to do since they were all assigned to their first hosts. Or when they first appeared in a mindscape like Virgil had. Which the other three sides found strange to them. As new sides weren't assigned so late into a host's development. It was suspicious. Thomas looked up at all of them surprised by that sentence. He didn't need to apologize to them? But of course he had to. They were his friends and family now. He just hoped they would all stay like that. No matter how many mistakes he makes.
