*Sanaa's Pov*
It happened again.
I watched the massive machine stomping through the desert, squashing plants and crushing rocks beneath its metal feet, I couldn't help but feel a sense of despair. The Gerudo Desert was the only home I had ever known, and it was suffering due to the destructive behavior of Vah Naboris.
It wasn't always like this, of course. The divine beast had been created by the ancients centuries ago, to protect my people from the calamity. It was supposed to be a force for good, but something had gone wrong. It had started moving from its resting place on the mountains without a driver three weeks ago, and since then, it had been destroying everything in its path.
It was almost unbearable to watch the machine crushing everything in its path. The beautiful desert flowers, the watermelons, and even Hydratik - one of my favorite cacti, known for its incredible healing properties. There was a legend that Hydratik had the ability to bring someone back from the dead.
With every step of Vah Naboris, I felt a sense of hopelessness. It seemed like no matter what we did, we couldn't control the machine. We were at its mercy, and the damage it was causing was immense. It was up to us to find a way to stop it before it destroyed the only home we had ever known.
*flashback*
There was a loud zap that could be heard from inside the town.
And there, from behind the walls in the distance, you could see Vah Naboris, he just stopped moving, the calm aquamarine blue lights have unexpectedly changed into a dark pink colour, he let out a deafning roat that filled the air.He walks along the desert, but way more aggressively than usual, his constant movement started a huge sandstorm, blocking of Gerudo Town from Kara Kara Bazaar, the outpost and any type of places we could go to.
Leaving us stuck either inside town, or outside of it. Due to the dangers outside of town, its become a problem to travel outside to hunt for food, and if we did manage to get something, it was in very small amounts or the hunters would come back severely injured.
This was not going well
*end of flashback*
I stood on my balcony which had a nice view of the town and the south of the desert.
Well, had nice view before the sandstorm,
Everything was so peaceful before, you could go to the Bazaar, visit the ruins, go and race on the sandseals, but now we're stuck here with nothing to do but pray to Ewya that we will be safe.Everyday Vah Naboris gets slowly yet surely closer to the town.
All the guards are trying to get the machine to change its route but the second they get close to it, the start to get zapped by electricity.
Mother tried to contact Purah and Robbie but the sand cloud is blocking the connection for the Shiekah slate. My training has also been stalled due to the sandstorm and the problems with food and all,
which is stressing me the hell out as I'm meant to complete my maturity trial this year, meaning I have less time to prepare.Everyday when I woke up, the first thing I would do is to check how much closer Vah Naboris is.
Hoping that eventually he'll just stop and leave us in peace. Not like that's gonna happen anytime soon. This whole situation is just annoying at this point. But the one of the things that annoys me the most is that ever since this whole ordeal started, everytime I walk down the stairs from my room, one of the sandstone bricks has either sunken down or lifted up and then when I come back later, It's back back normal !
This has never happened to me before and it's really frustrating because I tend to trip down the stairs alot now.
Like, it honestly makes me wanna rip the hair from my scalp from the amount of times I skinned my knees at this point.Mother tells me not to worry about the whole ordeal with the dumb machine,
that we'll figure something out, however Lianna, the elderly lady that everyone always goes to talk to from the canteen says "Were fucking doomed".Although she was drunk and most likely higher than a plane when she said that, but honestly, I agree with her.
Poor vai is so stressed over the recent events that she's gone back to her old coping techniques like drinking anything she can find. This has to end soon, its affecting everyone in such a negative way that its just sad at this point.
Like the nice lady at the general store, she always had a loving smile on her face, but when the storm started,
no one has seen her smile once. She and her 4 year old daughter were supposed to go to the hali'Kaned clan to see her husband but the storm is making it impossible to make it through. My thoughts were interupted as I heard a soft knock on my door,
I knew it was my mother, she made it a part of her daily routine to come and check up on me as she noticed the situation made me act more closed off and annoyed, she didn't blame me though, everytime she knocks on my door so often that I managed to memorise her knocking pattern.
"Come in" I replied to my mother."Hey there snow flake." My mother says in a gentle tone, little snow flake, that what she calls me because of my hair. I used to be embarrassed of my hair, but once I realised I can't change it, I kinda grew to love it.
My mother walked up to me, resting her arms on the barrier of my balcony while standing next to me, looking at the area. The metal of her jewelry hiring against itself gently as she moves.
We stayed like that for a good few minutes, just my mother and I and the sounds of the town below us. You could see all the villagers doing what they usually do, the elderly women at the center of the town, the mothers either working or watching over their kids, and the young vai were running around the place, playing games and laughing. If you listened closely enough you could hear the calls of te animals in the desert. the water running along the top of the walls and falling down into the water fountains.
I remember when I was younger, I would often play in my mother's throne room. It was a place of beauty and wonder, filled with golden statues and intricate tapestries. But there was one sound that always caught my attention - the sound of water running.
It started out as a faint whisper, like the rustling of leaves, but slowly grew louder and louder until it sounded like a rushing stream. I asked my mother about it, but she simply laughed it off, telling me it was just the wind outside.
But I knew it wasn't the wind. I could hear the sound even when all the windows were closed, even when there was no wind at all. And it seemed to be coming from underground.
I told Bularia, my mother's ever-present guard, but she simply shrugged it off, telling me it was impossible for water to be underground. But I knew what I had heard.
I spent hours searching for the source of the sound, but it always seemed to elude me. I would find myself wandering down hallways, past ancient pillars and through narrow tunnels, but the sound seemed to come from everywhere and nowhere at the same time.
It became an obsession for me, a mystery that haunted my every step. But no matter how much I searched, I couldn't find the source of the water. And the sound soon faded away, as if it had never been there at all.
Eventually I simply forgot about it. Thinking it was just normal and my stupid kiddie mind just exaggerate.
Besides that was 7 years ago.
