The Halstead's were having dinner, and Erin picked up the plates, and gave them to Hank.
"Cheers, Kiddo!" Hank smiled.
Erin nodded, and walked out.
As Jay came downstairs. Lily was watching some dance videos.
"No, It's late, bedtime, mama's taking you up, soon." Jay laughed softly.
Lily nodded, and carried on drawing.
When Jay went to walk away, a loud pop, set Jay off.
The stuff what Jay was holding, dropped out of his hands.
"S-Shot." Jay whimpered.
Jay fell to the floor, and kept his eyes trained at the door.
"Daddy?" Lily babbled.
Jay looked at Lily, then the door.
"Mama! Mama!" Lily called.
Lily ran into the kitchen, and grabbed Erin.
"Mama! It's daddy!" Lily exclaimed.
Erin rushed out, and her eyes landed on Jay.
"God, okay, go get a glass of water for daddy, and bring Grandpa in." Erin ordered.
Lily nodded, and done what Erin asked.
"Jay, Jay, look at me, look at my eyes, your safe." Erin soothed.
Erin took Jay's hands, rubbing her thumbs over them, soothingly.
"Baby, your safe, keep looking at me." Erin whispered.
Hank came over, and saw the state Jay was in.
"Here's the water, kid." Hank handed over.
Erin took the glass, and placed it on the floor.
"I-I heard a gunshot, Erin, s-someone was being shot!" Jay exclaimed.
Hank crouched down, and held Jay's shoulders.
"Kiddo, that was only some party poppers, your safe, no gunshots, no Roy, or Kent, just me, and Erin, your at home." Hank reassured.
Jay broke into sobs, and Lily saw the whole thing.
"D-Daddy?" Lily asked.
Everyone looked at Lily, and Justin spoke.
"Daddy's not feeling well, sweetie, let's get you to bed, you got school in the morning." Justin held Lily's shoulders.
Lily walked upstairs, with Justin.
"Here, drink some water." Erin suggested.
Jay shakily drank the water, and sighed.
"Jay, let's get you into bed, Justin's got Lily, she's fine." Hank responded.
Hank carried Jay in his arms, walking upstairs.
Erin followed the two upstairs, and into the bedroom.
"Your gonna be okay, kiddo." Hank smiled.
As soon as Hank placed Jay down. Justin came bursting in.
"Pop! It's Lily!" Justin exclaimed.
Erin rushed out, and into Lily's bedroom.
"Hey, what's wrong, babe?" Erin cooed.
Lily sniffled, and spoke.'
"W-Why did daddy remove my bracelet from his wrist, and why are there wed marks?" Lily explained.
Erin felt her heart shatter, she had no idea how she was gonna explain it.
"Well, I'm not able to tell you, why daddy has red marks on his wrists, but, what I can tell you is, daddy has your beautiful bracelet in his drawer, he's keeping it safe." Erin smiled.
Lily nodded, and lied back down.
After a few minutes. Lily was asleep, and Justin asked Erin a question.
"Sis, what's going with Jay, and why does Jay have marks on his wrist? Pop, never told me a lot." Justin admitted.
"Justin, Jay was kidnapped, and, Kent cuffed Jay, with his own cuffs, Jay was shot twice, he's been struggling ever since, he's been having nightmares, waking up, pulling a gun on me or dad, he's not thinking straight, hence, why he thought the party poppers, were a gunshot, he was frightened, he was gonna get kidnapped, and shot again." Erin explained.
Justin had no idea, it was this bad.
"W-Wow! I had no idea, I'm so, so sorry, sis." Justin looked down.
Erin nodded, and sighed.
"So, tread carefully, when you talk to him, about it, also, It's important, Lily never hears a word of this, understand? I don't want Jay to be even more scared, he was scared, about Lily, and Marcus seeing his wrists, now's Lily's seen it..." Erin responded.
Justin nodded, and reassured.
"You can trust me, sis, I won't say a word." Justin promised.
Erin smiled, and walked back into her bedroom.
As Erin walked in, her eyes landed on Jay.
Hank was rocking Jay in his arms, settling him to sleep.
"I use to do this with Justin." Hank smiled.
Erin smiled, and sat on the bed.
"Looks to me, like it's working, dad." Erin smiled.
Hank looked down, and saw Jay, asleep.
"Hopefully, Jay will sleep through the night, if he doesn't, well, we'll work through it." Hank nodded.
Erin nodded, and fell asleep.
"Go to sleep, kiddo, I'll look after Jay." Hank reassured.
Erin got into bed, and fell to sleep.
"Sleep tight, Sleep tight, don't let your worries stay in your mind, Sleep tight, Sleep tight, don't let the worries stay in your head, tonight." Hank sung softly.
Justin leant against the doorframe, listening to the song, he used to be sung to as a child.
"Is daddy, okay, Uncle Justin?" Lily babbled.
Justin picked Lily up, and smiled.
"Yeah, daddy's just fine, Grandpa Hank's looking after him, don't worry." Justin whispered.
"Ah! Good, I don't want daddy to be poorly, I wove him." Lily sighed.
Justin smiled, and walked Lily back to bed.
