brother bonds never pull apart Pt 1

"Can you wead me a bedtime story hia" a 5 year old Macau had asked when he was getting ready for bed
Vegas was a little hesitant and looks out the door to see if their father was nearby

"OK but just this once"  to which macau cheers leading vegas to hush  him "not so loud cau"

"Opps sorry hia" Macau looks at him innocently

Vegas smiles then starts a book from where they left off "once upon a time there was a sweet little prince in distress, everyone tries to cheer him up but nothing works until one day his big brother came back home and got rid of the king forever"
Vegas was going to continue but then he looks to the side to see Macau slowly snoozing off

He smiles at him and kisses his forehead "sweet dream little prince"

"Hia" a tiny sleepy voice called out "you won't leave me wight, like like the prince's brother did in the be-begining" Macau spoke half asleep but still reaching out for vegas

Vegas smiles softly and bent down to kiss his forehead again "not if my life depends on it cau I promise"

"Will I always be your little prince too" cau spoke before he drifted off to sleep

Vegas spoke softly as he rubs macaus hand gently "yes you will little prince, I will always protect you, I promise, im not like the big brother in the story" he once again kisses Macau's forehead before slowly leaving the room with a fond look on his face

*years later*

Cries and shouts can be heard around the mansion with Venice crying for a diaper change and vegas barking orders at the guards

Macau stretched and yawn as he woke up
He looks around to see the pile of books that he fell asleep on
"Great, I fell asleep in the middle of studying" he grumbles

Just then, pete came in knocking and with a smile on his face "hey cau, breakfast is about ready, come join us"

Macau nodded as he hops off the bed "thanks phi, im hungry"
Pete looks at him curiously "did you end up eating dinner last night, we know you were to busy studying for your exams to join us"

Macau blinks as the words registered in his brain "uh no I forgot, sorry phi, I'll go eat right now" then he quickly left to go get ready and eat breakfast

Pete chuckled "it's ok, now come let's eat"

Breakfast at the minor family was a bit hectic this morning especially with a screaming teething baby

"Pete you brought him here, deal with him" vegas grumbles
Pete rolls his eyes "he's teething alright calm down

Macau just looks at the scene as he eats when he suddenly remembers something "hey hia, my exams is soon, if I pass all of them can I go on  a trip with chay and a few of our friends"
Macau went ignored as vegas focused on trying to feed Venice

"Hia, hia can I go pleaseeee" Macau tries to get his attention but of course the area was too loud with chatty bodyguards and a fussy Venice who had thrown a spoon towards Macau's face

"Ouch, that hurt Ven" Macau exclaimed crossing his arms
At that point vegas turn to look at him "look cau you can do whatever you want if you pass, now if you excuse me, I'm running late to a meeting and I don't wanna argue with kinn today" vegas said as he rush around to gather his stuff and quickly kiss his family on the head but right when he got to Macau, a loud ring tone blasted through and he answered the call with a huff "I know I know, im going im going" he harshly said as he quickly left
