Soon enough, the next day came, and with it, Daenyra's mother, the heir of the Seven Kingdom's Throne, Princess Rhaenyra Targaryen, the eldest child and only daughter of Viserys I Targaryen. It's only been two days away from her mother and brothers, but Daenyra had felt at peace, not having to plaster a smile on her face to hide how she truly felt.

She was standing in the courtyard between her father and Aemond. Then were standing Helaena, Aegon and Alicent. Daenyra started to pick at her cuticles, she was stressed, painfully aware of the tension between her mother and the Queen's family, and that she would be caught in her mother's ire at one point. Aemond gently took her hand in his, stopping her from peeling her finger's skin raw. Alicent didn't miss that, and as Daenyra raised her head to look at Aemond, she caught the girl's eyes in hers, she smiled at the child and nodded her head. Daenyra was grateful and nodded back at the Queen before taking in a large breath.

As the carriage stopped in the yard, Laenor came to help Rhaenyra out. When she got out, her hand found its way to her swollen belly. She was pregnant with her fourth child and still had a few moons to go before giving birth. Then Jace and Luke got out of the carriage after her. They all looked at each other, before Rhaenyra went to greet the Queen, merely sparing a glance at her only daughter. That didn't go unnoticed by Alicent or Leanor, both of them frowned.

"We're pleased to see you back in the Keep Princess" The Queen greeted with a tight smile that wasn't reaching her eyes. It has been an art Alicent mastered over the years, concealing her true emotions.

"Your Grace" Rhaenyra only nodded at her, not giving her more attention before grabbing her sons hands in hers and leading them towards their chambers. Danyra bit her bottom lip, painfully aware of her mother's indifference towards her. Laenor squeezed her shoulder gently, giving her a sympathetic smile. She smiled slightly at her Kepa.

"Would you like to have lunch with us sweet child?" The Queen asked her, her hand gently petting the crown of her head.

"I'm not sure if I can.." Before she could finish her reply, Laenor spoke.

"You can go if you'd like, little hatchling" Daenyra looked up at him with hope filled eyes. He nodded at her assuringly.

"Thanks Kepa!" She hugged her father's waist tightly before turning to the Queen. "Then I would love to!" Alicent was pleased with Daenyra's answer, she nodded to Laenor in thanks before turning back to the little girl

"Let us go then, I believe we will have some fish today." Daenyra beamed at that statement, she always loved fish more than any meat.

"Maybe I will give you a bit of mine, if you give me a bit of your dessert" Aemond teased her, knowing full well that Daenyra never allowed anyone near her sweets. "Or maybe I'll just take your dessert for free" He stuck out his tongue at her when she gasped. Then both children were seen running inside the Keep, Daenyra chasing Aemond with the promise of stuffing his face with his own cake until he choked.

Alicent couldn't refrain a little laugh from escaping her lips, Aemond was a very quiet and serious kid, alone most of the time, seeing her youngest smile so much was something she couldn't tire of. And it was all thanks to the little Princess, she was the only one with whom he would lower his walls. Daenyra was a ball of sunshine, the Queen couldn't help but love her, even when she swore herself she wouldn't associate with anything or anyone related to Rhaenyra, but she couldn't hate the child.
