The 3-hour long lecture ended a few minutes late as Jungkook walked out, an umbrella in hand. The storm had eventually come to a standstill sometime in between his classes and frankly he never noticed. The usually daydreaming boy, distracted by either the scenery outside the window or his phone, had for once decided to pay attention in class that day.

And he realized, not checking texts from your mother was always a bad idea

'I won't be able to pick you up today...Wonwoo got drunk again and is at Mingyu's place'

Wonwoo was his older brother. The pretty boy who got everything he wanted, including a long lasting friendship, even though he was also away from home the last five years.

The difference was that he, unlike Jungkook, had friends, allot of them. In fact he had a party thrown for him before they left. Although the plan wasn't his, the surprise he got surely was. All twelve of his closest friends, or so he recollects, planned it, and all Jungkook could do was watch, perhaps have a drink or two with Mingyu, who was the only one he knew.
He then locked himself, his thoughts, his guilt of how he'd not told the one friend he had despite the obvious consequence, all in his room while he packed all of it into a suitcase.

It was then that he had called Jimin, but only waiting three seconds before hanging up. Jimin couldn't have known about the call, or maybe that's what Jungkook wanted after all.

The young boy doused the inner turmoil with a cascade of water, unaware of the lingering sting that would follow.

With all the buses gone and the rain picking up again, Jungkook collected his thoughts, mentally preparing himself as he walked with heavy steps hoping to reach home within at least an hour. He plugged his earphones in playing the songs louder than his racing mind, in hopes of perhaps a distraction. Whether it was the weather or Jimin he needed to be distracted from, he'd have to think about.

Eventually he got to Hampton cross and soon found himself waiting for the green light. He checked the time, 7:40pm.

Maybe it was the Moonlight Sonata playing in his earphones, or the fact that he didn't have the excuse of being inside a bus, but he couldn't stop himself from glancing at the Riverdale shrine. The sudden urge to throw everything behind and run home, Jimin's home, arose. Ever since they returned from the US, he'd never felt at home pretty much anywhere. Everything felt out of place. Something told him that the small house in Riverdale Road might change that. Jimin's home might change that.

He hadn't realized that it was Jimin's company that made it home.

He let his thoughts flow this time, as distracting as they might have been, the thought of home reminded him only of his father, and the boy terribly missed him at the moment.

His father, a then brilliant scientist on the verge of a groundbreaking discovery, received an offer from a cutting-edge research facility that promised to change the course of science. Somewhere along the lines of a device capable of manipulating time.
