No Medicine & No Coffee Equals A Bad Day

"Avery!" mom shouts. "We're going to Future Shop. Wanna come?" Derek says. "Derek, you're stopping this right now. It is not fair to me. Now turn eighteen and move out!" Mom jokes. I laugh. "Yeah, sure. Lemme grab my phone." I say, cluelessly. "Okay, sweetie. Be in the car." Derek mocks Mom. "-for five o-clock." Mom interrupted. I check my phones clock. It reads 4:58. I nod and follow them out.

We pull up to the Future Shop, while I'm drinking a Frappucino from Starbucks. "Here we are. Got your money, Aves?" Mom asks. "Yes, mum. Right here." I say, tapping on my purse then sipping some more Frappucino. "Starbucks obsessed!" Demetri, my 13 year old sister says and takes a selfie with a friend.
"Mom. Why is Demi here?" I ask. "This Future Shop is part of a mall, and your sister was at a friends last night. She texted me this morning. I still can't figure out this iPhone 6 thingymabobber." Mom stashed her phone away in the middle part up front. "Something to hide, mama?" Joshua, my mums fiancé laughs. Derek and I are in the back. I undo my seatbelt and Derek undoes his. "So, Aves." Joshua starts. "Avery." I correct. "Avery. We are buying Derek, and you a new phone. Each. That sound good? What sounds good to you?" I think about that question. I thought my iPhone 4S was simply fine. But an iPhone 5S or 6- 6 plus.. well I don't know. "Six Plus!" Derek yells. "5S is okay I guess." I say, quietly. "No Android, Blackberry, Samsung, HTC? Nothing? Nothing but iPhone is what kids want, nowadays. When I was a kid I played until the str-" Josh rambled. "Until the street lights came on, I know. This generation is different. Let's go already!" Derek obviously hasn't had his ADHD medicine yet. Me? I haven't had my freaking coffee yet.
