-Brielle’s P.O.V.-
It was sad to hear the school bell ring. Oh well, I guess that leaves more time for the other classes. Yay!
Next up- LA class. That’s Language A, sign language and Braille. Here at Harris University, everybody’s obliged to learn the hand movements and raised dots, that way everyone can understand each other.
Though I can’t see what I’m doing, by the sound of my friends’ voices, I am pretty sure they can.
“It is nice to be here” I said while making hand gestures.
“I agree with what you’re saying” said Ted, a friend of mine, we’re practicing ASL.
Class after class, minute after minute, everything just keeps getting better. And to think it’s only day one!
I wish everyday would be like this. Everyday would be fun an exciting, and learning would be like eating ice cream, delightful.
The following Monday, I could sense that every one of us seems to enjoy Lit class.
“Moving on” Ms. Dawson gleefully said, “today we are going to perform an activity. Each of you will need a partner from the other group. The two of you shall make a poem that revolves around one or two out of the five topics- gravity, love, nature, tragedy, and reality.”
From the thumping of footsteps, mumbling voices, and clicking of heels, Group B has now moved in to our side of the class.
“Now, don’t be shy. Get to know one another so that you may get more acquainted” Ms. Dawson chirped.
I decided to stay in my chair, the people around me are crowding up, anyway.
“Bit of a surprise to see you here” I heard a guy say.
“Hello there” I said, before asking for his ID.
My fingertips try to find the Braille section of his card.
L.
M-C-G-A-R-T-H.
“Wait, you study here, too?” I asked. He was a photographer just a couple of weeks ago, why would he go back to school?
“My boss won’t let me work without a college degree” he said.
“Really? I kinda thought you wouldn’t need that. After all, you were already working” I thought he was through with his studies.
“Really” he replied, before sitting on the chair next to me.
