Alara had never been so excited yet so anxious at the same time before. Today was the day. The day she'd get to start her Hogwarts adventure but also the day she would quite possibly loose her only friend. Her best friend. She had been having near panic attacks every time Harry Potter was mentioned in her household, and when he got back from his brief holiday, Alara made sure to stay hidden in her house. She figured Harry would have been told, on that Holiday, because when he came back, he looked rather peeved. No that's not the right description... he looked downright furious, the second his eyes landed upon the O Dubhda household. He spent his final month glowering anytime the house was in his view. She was just sure of it. She hoped whoever told Harry the truth also told him, about the Statute of Secrecy and why she couldn't tell him. But he was her best friend, and she knew making him see reason when he had decided he was angry, was like trying to make him see without his glasses.

So she kept to her room, hanging with the fifteen year old Dylan, who tried to distract her from her anxiety, by testing her on her knowledge she had already learned from her textbooks she had read many times over by this point. She played with the now ten year old Caitlin, and read her a wizarding storybook she had gotten called the tales of beetle the bard. Her Aunt had tried to convince her a couple times to just rip the plaster off and go talk to him, but every time Alara even got close to the front door, she would start breathing heavily, tears forming at her eyes, at the thought of her best friends rage, so she would just run back up to her room, and try to distract herself.

But the time has come where she had run out of time to hide away from her best friend. Her aunt, and her two cousins had come to take her to Kings cross station. She was meeting up with Hermione there, as the girls had given one another their telephone numbers and had been calling nearly every day, becoming quick friends. Alara had even been owling Rolf, Edie and Robyn, when she gave them her address so they could send their family owl to her household. She would have owled Luna or Neville but neither had a family owl or were able to send them all the way to Surrey, consistantly, as if they did have them they were older in age. But she sent Luna a letter the Muggle way which she found really interesting and the two girls had been pen pals for the past month.

So Alara supposes, at least, she won't be completely alone at Hogwarts... but it wouldn't be the same if Harry never forgave her. But a part of her, a tiny irrational part of her, hoped he would be quick to forgive her, or maybe not even be mad at her at all, be understanding of her situation. Oh how wrong that small part of her was.

Things started out great, she sat with Hermione, and Neville on the train, (Not Luna as she wouldn't be starting until next year, she had just been at Diagon Alley to get some supplies to try and trap some Nargles, whatever those were), after a teary goodbye, with her Aunt and cousins (Her Grandfather unfortunately had to work so he wasn't able to see her off). She got a few treats for the trio, with the money she had exchanged at Gringott's as she did not have a key to access her parents vault, as she had never heard from her father once in her ten years at her Aunts.

But when Neville lost his toad, Trevor, and they began searching the other compartments to see if anyone had seen him, that is when things went downhill. The three had split up to cover more ground. By the time she heard Harry's voice it was too late, she had already partially opened his compartment door.

"... Hello, Harry." Alara said sheepishly.

He didn't even look at her. "Who are you?" A boy with ginger hair, a bunch of freckles and a dirt splotch on his nose asks. Before she could answer the boy Harry answered for her.

"My EX best friend. The liar I was telling you about. Can't believe I was friends with a liar for ten years, but at least I know the truth now. No thanks to you Lupin. Now what do you want?"
