"Roger, are you serious right now?" Mark hissed as he glared at the other man. Roger smirked; it was one of his smirks that made Mark's knees get weak. It was all teeth and promised mischief. Mark loved it he was tempted to stand on his tippy toes and kiss it off-

"Woah woah slow down there." Mark thought to himself his growing crush on his roommate was getting out of control. Anything to do with Roger was becoming complicated when he wanted to kiss Roger and other things he didn't want to think about.

Mark knew he had feelings for Roger; he didn't know if his roommate was even into men let alone him. Roger seemed to have a type according to his past two relationships with April and Mimi. Scantily clad women who also happened to be addicted to drugs.

Mark was far from that; he was a pale scrawny blonde artist. Mark had always been there to care for Roger. Did that mean anything though? Mark was nervous to confess it was torture having Roger so close yet still not being able to have him. Mark also didn't want to lose his best friend if things went wrong so he tried his best to ignore the thoughts. Not that it worked.

Roger had hidden his camera somewhere and Mark had no idea where. Mark always felt out of place without his camera close by. Roger had said that he needed to put it down live in the moment. Mark said that he could experience things just fine with his camera plus he could always rewatch things with his camera however many times he wanted so it was fine if he didn't remember anything.

"Yeah I am, you are addicted to that thing." Roger said his smirk was still on his face and Mark felt his cheeks heat up. Roger licked his lips. He was staring down intently at Mark; he appeared to be examining his face.

"How easy it would be." Mark thought. There was only a few feet between them so it wouldn't be hard to close the distance. Mark gulped it was painful to have Roger this close. He felt like a kid on Christmas knowing they had gifts under the tree but couldn't touch them. Roger was right there yet it still felt like he was unobtainable.

"Huh what?" Mark asked as he blinked, broken out of his trance. Mark had been too busy staring at Roger's lips to hear what he had been saying. Roger sighed he was annoyed that he had to repeat himself. "Sorry." Mark said looking at the ground his cheek heated up in embarrassment this time.

"God Mark you don't pay attention do you?" Roger teased the smirk back on his face. Mark swallowed Roger sure wasn't helping his intrusive thoughts.

"Whatever." Mark said rolling his eyes he crossed his arms over his chest

"Awww is the poor baby annoyed?" Roger mocked he really was starting to get on Mark's nerves.

"Yes, so shut it." Mark growled. Roger tipped his head back and laughed. Mark's growls were like a hiss from a kitten. It didn't scare Roger one bit if anything it just encouraged him even more. Mark felt his ears turn red and he shoved Roger in the chest. It wasn't hard enough to hurt him any just enough to get him to stop laughing and show him Mark meant business.

"Your cute when you blush Mark." Roger said he grabbed Roger's hand before he could pull away, yanking him forward until they were chest to chest.

"Huh?!" Mark thought he was panicking; he felt all his thoughts go out the window. "Roger thinks I'm cute?!" Mark fell further into the rabbit hole of spiraling thoughts that Roger had put him into.

"Earth to Mark." Roger said, poking the filmmaker on the forehead. Mark growled, swatting his finger away only making Roger smile.

"You think I'm cute?" Mark asked as he stared up at Roger. Roger's eyes widened as he looked away sheepishly at the ground; his cheeks turned a nice shade of dark red.

"Uh for a guy I guess." Roger said he wanted to face-palm God that was dumb.

"Oh." Mark said not knowing what else to say. Did that mean Roger liked him or was he just looking too far into it?

"Wanna go grab lunch at the Life Café? Maureen called saying we all are going to meet up there. Was going to tell you but got distracted." Roger said, trying to break some of the tension that was in the air between them.

"Sure." Mark agreed a little to fast anything if he didn't have to continue this conversation. "Wait, you actually answered the phone?" Mark asked, confused. Roger never answered the phone.

"Yeah I did only because you were too busy fiddling with that camera to notice it go off. Also your mom said she wants you to call her back Marky." Roger said he said it in a mocking high pitched voice. Mark thought it was an actual good impression of her voice; her voice was annoying.

"Keep screening." Mark said he didn't want to talk to her better to let her go straight to voice message. If only she knew her only son was actually gay and into his ex junkie Rockstar roommate she might not call anymore after that. She was already disappointed in him for dropping out of Brown to move to New York City.

"Ready?" Roger asked as he came out of his room in his leather jacket to keep himself warm in the December weather. Mark always liked it when Roger wore it suited him.

"Yeah." Mark said he was anxious to get out of the house. It had been a while since all his friends had been together. It would also be a nice distraction from the fact that he had wanted so badly to kiss his best friend who probably didn't share feelings for him.

The two men walked out of the loft. It was cold outside. Mark was shivering, Roger noticed. The man pulled Mark into his side Mark gave him a thankful but confused smile. Roger never initiated physical content with a lot of people. Mark got a small flicker of hope at that thought. Hopefully he thought he might have a shot after all.
