Getting out there

Ellie's Pov

I was laying on my bed on my stomach scrolling through tiktok when I noticed I had been sent a video by my friend. I clicked on the video and was met by the faces of two men I had never seen before.

"Speaking of Taylor Swift, I know you went to the Taylor Swift concert. How was it?" What in the world did this girl send me.

I continued watching the video and was pleasantly surprised to see that one of the brothers who's name I learned was Travis attempted to ask my mom out with a friendship bracelet. His master plan obviously failed but I got to hand it to him it was a good attempt. No guys have ever really done anything romantic or public when it comes to asking mom out which I know she's used to, but it's always pissed me off.

"Ok Travis who are you." I mumbled to myself while searching him up on google. I Quickly learned that his name was Travis Kelce and he had a brother named Jason. I found myself in a loop of watching clips from his podcast and learned a lot of things about him.

I was beginning to get uncomfortable after laying on my stomach for too long so begrudgingly I got up and began venturing around the house trying to find my mom.

"Mom!" Nothing.

"MOM!" I waited a moment. "Damn still nothing." I sighed. Welp she's asking for it.

"MOTHER MOM MOMMY MUMMY MUM MAMA TAYLOR MOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM." I yelled every name I could think of until I heard the sound of someone coming down the stairs.

"Good lord child what is wrong." My mom looked at me with an exasperated look.

"Huh oh nothing I just didn't know where you were." I gave her an innocent smile before flopping down on the couch. She gave me an annoyed look before sitting down next to me letting out a groan as she did.

"Look at this." I handed her my phone which had the video of Travis talking about how he wanted to give her a bracelet.

"What am I about to watch."

"Just shush and watch the video I think you'll like it." My mom sighed and pressed play on the video. I watched her face intently as Travis and Jason voices played in the background.

Taylor's Pov

I pressed play on the video on El's phone and was surprised to see two men pop up on the screen. They began talking about how one of them had gone to my concert and I couldn't help but feel oddly attracted to taller one's voice. A slight blush settled on my face as he casually mentioned how he had planned on giving me a friendship bracelet and it certainly didn't help learning that it had his number on it. The video ended and I looked over to see my daughter staring at me intently.

"So?"

"So what?"

"What do you think?"

"Ellie." I sighed realizing where she was going with this.

"Come on mom this is the first guy to actually do something sweet to try and get your attention."

"I see that El but you know how I feel about dating right now. It was a nice gesture but I'm afraid his efforts were in vain." I stroked her hair as she looked at me with a deadpan expression.
