I stirred in my dorm room, at a lost. The sunlight glaring through the window making it known that it was a late morning. A sense of confusion washed over me—I couldn't recall how I'd made it back here. Rubbing my eyes, I realized I was running late for Professor Snape's potions class.

Rushing to get ready, I grabbed my things in a hurry, hoping I hadn't missed too much of Snape's lecture. As I hurried into the classroom, Snape's scrutinizing gaze fell upon me.

"Miss Black, late again, I see," Snape's cold voice echoed in the silent room.

"I, uh, overslept," I stammered, trying to mask my uneasiness.

He gave me a stern nod, gesturing for me to take a seat. The only available spot happened to be at the back, directly in front of Fred and George Weasley.

Taking my place, I tried to focus on Snape's lecture, scribbling notes in an attempt to catch up. Then, out of nowhere, a paper swan landed on my desk. I unfolded it discreetly, revealing a note scrawled inside, a sly message from the twins.

"Had a rough night ay? - F & G"

Heat flushed my cheeks as I tried to suppress a chuckle, realizing they knew more than I'd thought. But before I could react, Snape's eyes bore into the paper in my hands.

He snatched the note, his expression turning sour as he read the mischievous message. "Weasley twins," he muttered under his breath, his gaze flickering between me and the twins with disdain.

The twins' antics had drawn Snape's attention, and now, I found myself caught in the middle of their playful exchange, unsure of how Snape would respond to their disruption.

As Snape's stern gaze shifted between me and the mischievous twins, a sinking feeling settled in my stomach. The parchment felt like a weight in my hands, a silent indication, to the unexpected chaos that had unfolded in the midst of class.

Snape's lip curled in disdain as he folded the paper with deliberate precision, his gaze piercing through the room. "Detention, Weasley twins," he declared, his voice cutting through the silence.

Fred and George exchanged a quick glance, their faces a mix of mischief and defiance, yet a trace of amusement danced in their eyes. Their boldness was undeniable, facing Snape's wrath with an air of calmness.

The atmosphere crackled with tension as Snape's attention lingered on the twins, their playful disobedience seemingly unshaken by the impending punishment.

Meanwhile, I sat there, feeling a blend of embarrassment and curiosity. My connection to the twins had accidentally drawn me into their antics, and now I was witnessing the aftermath of their impromptu note.

Snape's stern voice cut through the air again. "And Miss Black, I suggest you focus on the lesson rather than becoming entangled in the Weasleys' disruptions."

I nodded quickly, feeling a sense of relief that Snape's focus had shifted away from me. Yet, a subtle smile tugged at the corners of my lips, unable to completely suppress, the amusement sparked by the twins' audacity.

The class continued, Snape's words serving as a backdrop to the lingering thoughts about the unexpected connection I seemed to have stumbled into with the Weasley twins.

The remainder of the class passed in a haze of potions and Snape's stern instructions. As the lesson drew to a close, I packed my things, intending to leave unnoticed. Yet, before I could slip away, another paper bird landed softly on my desk.

Curiosity tinged with caution, I cautiously unfolded the note, revealing another scribbled message from the Weasley twins.

"Couldn't resist another chat? - F & G"
