Chapter Nine

One day old

Lorenzo's pov:

"Shh, your going to wake Dadda"  Sky whispers as the sheets on her side move down slightly. Gabriella's cry's fill the room and I slowly wake. "Shhh" Sky soothes picking up Gabriella from her bed.

I push up on my elbow as Sky turns back towards the middle of the bed. "Hold on" I tell her, reaching over and setting her pillow up against the headboard closer to mine. She shuffles closer, as I sit up resting against the headboard myself.

"Can you please grab a diaper?" Sky asks, setting Gabriella down on the bed in-front of her, her cry's intensifying as I head towards the small station of stuff we have set up in the corner of the room.

Grabbing one and some wipes I head back towards the bed. Sky smiles as I place it beside her as I sit back down. She changes her diaper before getting up and throwing it in the bathroom bin.

Gabriella continues to cry so I pick her up and hold her to my chest. I begin rocking her, but her cry's don't stop. Sky walks back into the room, throwing the wipes on the desk.

"Try patting her" Sky says sliding back into bed, snuggling up to me. "Patting?" I ask, looking at her confused. She's not a fucking dog. Sky chuckles, "pat her on the bottom, it helps calm baby's" she explains pulling the blanket up over her legs. I do as she says but her crying continues.

How the fuc-

Gabriella begins to settle and I'm surprised that it actually worked. I hear shuffling before a weight on my shoulder. I glance and see Sky resting her head on my shoulder her eyes glued to Gabriella. Her hand reaches out and she rests it close to Gabriella's.

Her mood changes and I glance at her. "You okay?" I ask and she nods. "Yeah" she whispers, her hand withdrawing away from Gabriella to wipe her own check. My free arm wraps around her waist, and she sniffles. I look back at Gabriella and notice she's asleep. "Hold on" I whisper, before rising from the bed and walking towards the co-sleeper.

I place her down and head back to bed. My arms wrap around Sky and I pull her close. The moment her head hits my chest she's bursting into tears. I hold her close, my grip tightening as her body shakes with each sob.

I don't ask what's wrong, because I don't even think she knows. Instead I just hold her, hoping that it's enough to get her through whatever this is.

I wake at the crack of dawn like I normally do, Sky still wrapped tightly in my arms. She cried for an hour before she eventually fell asleep. I stayed awake for another hour, unable to sleep knowing something is bothering her and I'm unable to help.

Sky steers and I look down at her, her eyes fluttering open.  "Morning baby" I whisper placing a kiss to her forehead. She smiles, her joy seeming to have returned.

She pushes up and places a kiss to my lips. She pulls away and her gaze moves elsewhere. "I'm sorry about last night. I don't know what that was about" she whispers, "Amore you have nothing to apologise for. You're allowed to feel emotions" I whisper and she slowly looks back at me.

"I'm going to have a shower" she whispers climbing off the bed.  She looks at Gabriella before picking her up and placing a kiss to her cheek. "Want to go to dadda" she whispers looking at me.

I hold out my arms and she passes her to me, quickly taking off towards the bathroom.

What's with the hu-

My thoughts are cut short when I realise Gabriella has taken a shit. "Oh you-" I begin,looking up at Sky who's at the bathroom door. She laughs while throwing a diaper and wipes, the two landing on the foot of the bed. She closes the door seconds later.

This girl

The bedroom door opens and Keith runs in, jumping on the end of the bed. "Morning buddy" I say confused as to why he's awake so early. "Morning daddy" he says excitedly his eyes on Gabriella.

"Can I hold?" He asks looking at me. "Sure buddy, just wait til mum gets out of the shower" I reply, placing her down on the bed. He pouts, "why?" He asks crossing his arms.

"Because she would kill me if she doesn't see you holding her" I reply looking up at him. He continues to pout and I sigh. "Can you pass the diaper and wipes?" I ask and he nods, passing me the two.

How the fuck do I do this?

"That was refreshing" Sky says walking out of the bathroom. "Mummy" Keith shouts running over to hug her. "Hey little man" she says throwing the towel into the bathroom before picking him up.

"Why are you up so early?" She asks walking over to the bed and placing him down. "I wanted to hold Sissy" he replies crawling into the middle of the bed. "Yeah okay" she says crawling into the middle of the bed.

She grabs a pillow and places it on his lap. "Okay, hold your arms like this" she says showing him how to place his arms. He follows her instructions and she glances at me. I pass Gabriella to him, and he instantly smiles his eyes bright.

Sky smiles too as she grabs her phone from the beside table and takes a picture. "I'm going to have a shower" I tell her before walking over to the bathroom. I take another look towards the bed before closing the door. A smile plastering on my face.
