***BEACH DAY***
I stand with my toes in the sand as I wait for Demetri to serve the ball, I'm starting to wish I decided to play and be on his team as executes a shitty underhand serve causing the volleyball to hit the net. He watches it fall in the sand and stares at it while messing with the short sleeves of his shirt.
"Mulligan, send it back." He says.
"There's no mulligans in volleyball." Eli tells him, Demetri responds with a scoff.
"Says you." He walks off the makeshift court. "Water break."
Eli looks at Demetri with a confused look on his face before looking to me and rolling his eyes at our best friend. Demetri grabs the Cobra Kai towel from our pile of stuff and wipes his face with it as two girls walk past us. The girls stop when they actually see what's on the towel.
"Cobra Kai? You guys won that karate tournament, right?" Shorter, brunette girl asks as I walk over to Eli who wraps his arms around my waist and rests his chin on my shoulder.
Demetri lowers the towel from his face slowly to see the girls staring at him, he looks over his shoulder to make sure it's him they're focused on before speaking.
"Uh...The All Valley? The Rumble in Reseda?" He throws the towel over his shoulder and leans on the pole holding up the net. "Yes, uh... We, uh... We certainly did."
I don't have to look at Eli to know that he's giving Demetri a what the fuck look.
"Cool. We're gonna go for a swim, but maybe play with you later?" The first girl says.
"Pffft...Most def." His voice cracks, causing him to ramble a bit. "Uh, that means 'most definitely.'"
The brunette giggles at him before waving and walking away with her friend. As we watch them go, Moon walks up to stand beside Demetri and smiles at him holding back a laugh.
"Look at you, player." She says to Demetri as he continues to keep his eyes on the girls.
Moon walks over to the rest of our stuff as Eli turns to look at Demetri.
"It'd be nice if you actually earned the Cobra Kai cred you're so happy to take. When are you ever gonna sign up?"
"I don't know. I'm kind of enjoying gain without the pain." Demetri responds, I smile at his response before kissing Eli on the cheek and going over to help Moon rifle through our pile of shit.
Miguel walks over to the boys and starts talking to them in a hushed voice so I can't hear what they're saying but I do know that whatever he told them has Eli looking like Miguel had told him he found the cure to cancer.
