A murder

I once knew someone whose personality flirted with the gods.
I heard the songs of his soul, and his heart cried out to the one who made orion.

He once told her crows were the smartest bird in the world.
A murder would be deadly, he used to laugh.
Now she watches his,
every time he turns a corner.

Sometimes she knows a man,
Whose voice caresses your heart,
his words could flatten the curviest land.
He's an angel with broken wings,
Yet the shine of his halo is never enough to keep the reapers away.

She'll catch glimpses still,
now and then.
Of who he was,
when she glances in the mirror,
when she stays up too late.

She'll wake up screaming,
after dreaming,
watching his murder.
So watch your wings Icarus,
all because he once loved a girl named Artemis.
