Jacob returns to his regularly scheduled program—calling Theodore every morning and every night. In Austin's words, he's once again showering Theodore with all his attention and energy. That bit where he was worried he'd be a distraction during the internship?

Well, that concern has vanished.

He no longer cares.

Sometimes, Theodore's competitive nature kicks in, and he strives to beat Jacob by reaching out first. Win or lose, though, he derives great pleasure from their blooming romance.

From how someone as damn hot as Jacob covets him.

Theodore inwardly squeals, glancing sideways in case any colleague is nearby, and sighs in relief when he finds no one. He rests his chin on his palm, gazing mindlessly at his desktop screen.

He used to be the one constantly compromising in past relationships. Even though his feelings weren't as intense as how he feels now, he rarely refused requests from his exes. As a matter of fact, he only refused once—and it led to a really awful breakup he doesn't want to think about.

On second thought, he really was a shitty boyfriend. He lacked initiative and was a pushover. In a nutshell, he was boring.

A meh.

That can't happen again. Not with Jacob.

So far, he's not as uncomfortable taking the lead. Maybe it's because he and Jacob have known each other for as long as he can remember. They started as frenemies. Jacob was rude to him for no reason. Then indifferent. Then... he wasn't. And somehow, they became friends. It was an unforeseen transition.

Theodore folds his arms and nods in satisfaction. He could be in charge. Put in more effort in the romance department.

Defeat Jacob!

However, the problem is—Jacob's completely irresistible when he wants to be.

Which is, honestly, all the freaking time.

And Theodore enjoys being coddled and babied. After all, it's Jacob Allegre! Does he even need to say more?

Once more, he nods in satisfaction. No one can fault him for that. If anyone had the privilege to be spoiled by him, they'd relish it, too.

Theodore draws a breath.

First things first: he has to ask Jacob out on a date to show him that he cares just as much. Tonight, when he calls him, he'll ask.

What should they do, though? They've watched movies with Austin and Stella. They've gone out to eat. What else is there that they haven't done?

He blushes, shaking his head frantically.

There are lots of options...

Still, some things are better suited for the grand finale. He needs a buildup—something sweet but not intense that might make him come off like a total pervert.

Theodore drops his head on his work desk. He can't fuck this up. It has to be the most perfect date in the history of Jacob's dating life.

"Theodore?"

The voice jolts him upright, and he bangs his knees against the underside of the table. It's his supervisor, Atty. Glen Tiangco.

"Y-Yes, Attorney?"

"Come here for a sec."

Theodore gives himself a light slap on the cheek and heads to his supervisor's office. Glen is sitting at his desk, typing something on his laptop, eyebrows drawn together.
