Alone

Chapter I

Why? That's the one thing I ask myself everyday. Why did I choose this life? Why did I let him pick? Why did I do this? You may not understand these words now, but later ; you will.

I was on the school bus, waiting to get home and hug my parents like any other usual day. It was Friday and i was ready to  jump on my bed with mom and dad and watch some Netflix. We were a really happy family.

The bus dropped me off at my door, and something eerie was going on. I walked in and saw my parents fighting. They were shouting, and insulting each other. I panicked. I just didn't know what to do so I shouted hoarsely "STOP!" and they both attacked me simultaneously saying "Shut up and go to your room!" They have never shouted to me like that before.

I ran, crying, to my room and laid in my bed for about 30 minutes hearing them fight over and over. I felt miserable. Suddenly, my mother stopped. I couldn't hear her, I could only hear her whisper " Calm down, calm down... NO!" and then... BANG. In that moment i ran to the living room where they were fighting and saw it.... He. Killed. Her. I couldn't believe my eyes. I ran as fast as i could so my dad wouldn't notice me, and i was afraid he would come after me... I do not know what was happening.

I tried, and tried to forget what i had just seen, but that wasn't something you could just 'unsee'. At that moment the only thought in my mind was "hide" so i ran and carefully slid under my bed. I was sweating and fidgeting. I heard muffled thumps approaching. I never felt so scared in my entire life.

.I quickly grabbed a pillow I found laying around and put my head over it. I tried to relax, but couldn't. Seconds, minutes, maybe hours had passed and I still didn't come out. I ended up falling asleep under my bed. I still wasn't even able to spy under my bed and check if he was there. I was too scared
