LanguageYou auditioned for the new play, since you study theatre and acting at your college, and the role paper is right now pinned to the announcement board. The play is Romeo and Juliet, and you're hoping to get the role of Juliet, and your crush, c/n (crush name) get Romeo. The only reason you auditioned is because he was auditioning. You run up to the audition paper, reading the roles. You actually got Juliet. But your eyes scroll down to the name below you, next to Romeo's role. Matthew. Matthew Patel. You have to kiss Matthew FUCKING Patel. You groan in frustration, Matthew running over and shoving you out of the way to look at the cast list. He smiles widely as he sees his name next to the role of Romeo. "HAHA YES! I, the amazing Romeo!" He walks away proudly, forgetting to see who he's going to be kissing. You hate Matthew. You two have been rivals since middle school, always competing for the lead roles in musicals and plays. There's no way you're kissing him. You roll your eyes, heading to your first class, the day goes by slow, until you finally head to the auditorium to start your first day of rehearsal. The director is there, doing roll call. He calls Matthew's name, and his role, Matthew loudly saying "here", earning an eye roll from you. "Y/n l/n as the beautiful Juliet." You cross your arms, narrowing your eyes. "Here." As soon as he hears your name for Juliet's role, his expression changes, his proud smile now a frustrated, disappointed frown. Once he finishes roll call, he calls Romeo and Juliet over to get their scripts. "Okay you two. Try to practice your scripts as much as you can with each other. Go over each others houses if you need to. GET. THE. SCRIPT. RIGHT." The director says sternly, both of you hesitantly nodding and taking your scripts, walking over to a corner of the stage to "practice". "I am not letting my luscious lips touch yours." Matthew says, crossing his arms. "Look dude, we're both here for the same reason; to become actors. And you sometimes will end up with people you don't know, and sometimes hate. But you gotta deal with it. And who knows? I might be a good kisser in your eyes." You shrug, Matthew's eyes narrowing. "You think you're a good kisser? HA! That's pathetic." He scoffs, smirking. "It's better than drooling over an ex girlfriend that's already moved on multiple times." You say bluntly, crossing your arms. "Do not talk about Ramona like that! She was my love, my life, my everything." He say's dramatically, earning a hoot and a clap from the director. "That's what I like to hear Matthew! Keep it up!" Matthew smirks wider, looking up at you from his spot on the stage floor. "See? I am better than you." You roll your eyes and groan in annoyance. "Ugh. Whatever. Can we just start reading the damn script already?" You say, getting impatient. "Whatever you say, peasant. I'll always be better than you." He says confidently, grabbing his script and standing up, starting to run lines with you. You continue this until the end of rehearsal. Jesus fuck was it draining. Apparently, c/n got a roll on stage crew, so you have no chance of kissing him anytime soon. Or maybe...
