LanguageYou and Matthew woke up in bed together, your arms wrapped around each other. "Morning Matthew." You groan, rubbing your eyes. "Good morning y/n. Did you sleep well?" He asks, sitting up in bed. "Yeah. It was... nice.. having someone with me." You tell him, smiling. Your eyes widen when you realize something. It's the last rehearsal day. Everyone gets their costumes today, and rehearses together. "Um. Matthew?" You say, Matthew raising an eyebrow. "Hm? Yeah?" You bite your lip before speaking. "It's the last rehearsal day. We have to kiss tomorrow night." You tell him, his eyes widening. "Oh yes! It is the last rehearsal day! Don't we get to skip classes to rehearse all day?" You nod to answer his question, getting up out of bed to get dressed. You put on something comfortable; a pair of sweats and a black t-shirt, along with a gray hoodie. "Are you wearing the clothes you wore yesterday?" You ask him. "Yeah. It's okay though. I'll deal with it." He waves off your concern, causing you to shrug and head into your bathroom to brush your teeth. "Aren't you going to eat breakfast?" He asks. "I don't need to eat. It's optional for me." You mumble through the toothbrush in your mouth, Matthew's eyebrows raising, but he doesn't say anything else about it. He walks into the bathroom with you wrapping his arms around your waist from behind, resting his chin on your shoulder, looking at you in the mirror. "Do you have an extra toothbrush?" He mumbles, his hands trailing up and down your waist. "Yes I do." You tell him, opening the mirror cabinet and pulling out an unopened toothbrush, pulling it open and handing it to him, along with the tube of toothpaste. "Thanks y/n." He says, applying some toothpaste to the brush and starting to brush his teeth with you. Once the both of you finish, you decide to ask him something. "Are you going to break up with that girl you were dating?" You ask him, his eyes widening. "I already broke up with her once I hurt you." He tells you, you nodding. "Okay, good. You ready to go?" You ask him. "Yeah. Let's go. Don't want to be late." You two walk out to the parking lot. "Wait. Did you drive here?" You look at him, Matthew shaking his head. "I.. guess we have to take my motorcycle then." You shrug, straddling your motorcycle. "Get on. I left my helmets inside, so just be careful and hold onto me." You explain to him, Matthew nodding and getting on behind you, his arms wrapping around your lower abdomen. You start the motorcycle, revving the engine and driving off. Matthew holds onto you tightly, enjoying the cold breeze of the Toronto air. You feel less cold on the motorcycle this time because of his body heat enveloping you. You both arrive quickly and you park, checking the time. 6:57. Three minutes and you're late. You grab his wrist, running quickly inside, dragging him behind you. You guys get to the auditorium, and you check the time again. 6:59. Just in time. The director is doing roll call and he says, "Matthew Patel and y/n l/n?" You run into the stage with Matthew, "Here!" Both of you pant out, raising your hands. "Okay okay.. good good. We wouldn't want our lead roles being replaced would we?" He mumbles to himself, checking both of you off. "Okay! Costume design with deliver your costumes! Get the lights on, and stage crew will set up the first scene! Let's get this show on the roll!" The director says, tucking his clipboard under his arm, clapping and walking off the stage. "I'll.. see you soon, Matthew." A girl from costume design walks up to you with your costume in her hands, and you wave to Matthew, him waving back and also walking away with a boy from costume design. "I tried so hard on your costume. You're going to look great." She assures you, leading you into a dressing room. Her name is Kathy, and she's only been in college for a year. She majors in fashion and has a very grunge style. She is great at making outfits, so you're happy she made yours. "I hope so." You say, taking the outfit from her, going to try it on, and to your surprise, it fits perfectly. You walk out, Kathy's face lighting up. "Wow you look stunning!" Her jaw drops and she runs up to you, fixing the hem of your dress. "Okay so your hair fits Juliet's role extremely well, but you'll have to wear it down." She says, your eyes widening. You haven't worn your hair down since middle school because people made fun of you for it. But things are different now and your feeling confident, so you nod and she takes your bun out, your h/t h/c (hair type hair color) hair flows down over your shoulders and you shake it out of your face, Kathy's eyes lighting up. "You should wear it down more. You look stunning." She smiles, making a few adjustments and pushing you out of the dressing room. "I'll do your makeup tomorrow night. But for now you can do it without. Good luck." She smiles, giving you a thumbs up as you walk out, butterflies in your stomach. You peek out behind the curtain, the director sitting alone in the front row with his clipboard. You shake your hands back and forth, clenching your teeth. You're so nervous. And the fact you're going to have to do this infront a bunch of people tomorrow night makes you want to puke. "Y/n! You look stunning!" Matthew says, running up to you. "I... don't think I can do this." You say quickly, turning towards him. "Y/n. We've come this far we can do it. YOU can do it." You can do it. His words set off a spark within you. You smile, nodding. "I can do this. WE can do this." The director claps from his spot in the seats. "Alright dim the lights! Places! Curtains! Let's go!" Matthew grabs both your hands. "Okay. We got this. Let's go." Both of you nod, heading to your places. The curtains open and the lights turn off, the spotlights turning on instead. The play starts and you and Matthew come out on stage and start acting, the director observing closely. The play takes about an hour to rehearse, and then the end comes when you and Matthew are supposed to kiss. As soon as you approach each other, both of you turn away. "Oh come on! Kiss!" The director yells. "Can we save it for tomorrow? I want it to be special." You ask him, Matthew's eyes widening and the director sighing. "Alright, fine. Only because the rest of the play was great. Keep rehearsing everyone! You've still got 5 hours left of the day!" He yells, climbing back up onto the stage and walking up to you and Matthew. "You two better kiss tomorrow night or I'll make sure your acting careers are over!" He threatens, both of you nodding. Everyone continues rehearsing their lines for the rest of the day, heading home when the time comes. The two of you wave goodbye and head home. Man was that exhausting. You collapse onto your bed once you get home, falling asleep almost immediately. Tomorrow's the last straw. You're going to kiss Matthew Patel infront of everyone you know. For the first time.
