Jonah's POV
••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••
I wake up in my bed, no surprise there. The surprise was my brother, in my room, awake so early. He was talking to me about... something? I couldn't really process anything in my sleepy haze. After a while of blinking my eyes and leaning on my half-asleep arms, I got the jist of his babbling. It's our first day of school. Not ever, I'm not 5, I'm 14. It's my first day of highschool. It's one of the top highschools in the country, actually.
I tell my brother, Gabriel, to leave my room as I take off my comforter. I get up with a sigh and walk over to my closet and open it's doors. After I get dressed, no sweater, it's still summer after all.
Kace's POV
••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••I sit up in my bed, hearing my phone ring. I mutter 'fuck off..' to my phone, turning it off. I slide off of my bed, walk over to my door and lock it. I say, "Wake up, Kacey." while turning to my dresser.
The bunk bed creaks as I open our rusty drawers, grabbing some clothes and a sweater from the rack. I sit down on my bed and get dressed. Kacey leaves the room.
I start my morning scroll on my phone, we all do it... I think? Anyway, blah blah blah, I get my shoes on, eat breakfast, whatever. Today's Thursday, so the school day starts at 8. Its 7:20, the school's about 15 minutes away. I'm slouched on the couch and waiting for my older brother to get out of the restroom. He's our ride.
Speaking of 'our', I noticed that Kacey wasn't in the living room yet. "Kacey!" I call out, knowing she's in the restroom. She walks into the living room and so does my brother. We get on the road.
In the car, I grab my schedule and read it over. Art first. Okay... so room 203.. I think to myself. We get to the school I say good bye to my brother. Me and my sister walk to the front office.
Jonah's POV
•••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••I'm dressed, in the car, and in the line of Starbucks, fuck yeah. I get a frappe, yum. After a short drive, we arrive. That rhymed. I get out the car and look at the map I got a week prior.
While looking down, I felt myself bump into something. Or... someone. "Oh shit!" I exclaimed, and so did he. My overly-sweet, barely-coffee coffee was all over his brown, knitted sweater.
He looked down in awe and confusion at his sweater. He muttered, 'are you fucking kidding me?' and I couldn't help but feel worse. "Fuck." I say quickly, looking for something he could have used to wipe himself with.
I grabbed a tissue box and pulled out a few to start soaking up my drink. "I'm so sorry," I began to explain myself as he grabbed his own tissues. "I was looking at the map and.. shit.."
Kace's POV
•••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••I knew he meant it. It was weird, I got coffee spilt all over me, then the dude started wiping me?? Don't get me wrong, I appreciate his effort, but it felt a little awkward as he was rubbing my abdomen, indirectly. Iake myself sound like a creep, but I can't say I wasn't more nervous than usual
I accepted his apology. "It's ok, I-" I sigh, trying to get him to stop and trying to do it on my own. He doesn't get the hint and I instinctively grab his wrist. He looks up at me from his crouched-down angle.
Eye contact. With his (beautiful) blue eyes. I took a second, just staring at him. I notice the silence, clear my throat, and let him go. "I-it's ok. I'll clean it myself."
He straightend himself out and apologized again. "You sure? Cuz I really would hate if I just left you here." he shrugs. "Here, how about I take you to the nurse. They'll have extra clothes there, I think."
Jonah's POV
•••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••I grab his sleeve and tug in the direction of the front desk. I flash a friendly smile to convince him a little more. I would feel, like, super bad.
He sighed again, "..Sure." and shook his head lightly. I look to the girl next to him and smiled at her too.
