It had soon been morning, and Russia had fallen asleep at his desk and on top of the map. The sun shining on his face had woken him up. Yawning before looking out the window and looking down upon the map he had fallen asleep on. He folded the map up before getting up and leaving through the back door. Running into the woods, searching for the dragon he had shot down last night. He willed with pride and confidence for once as simple as killing this dragon can make his whole life turn around. That was his motivation for the actions he acted upon. Driven with a sense of narcissism to better his own life. The normal sounds of birds chirping and the wind passing were audible, and the sun beams through the tree's leaves made the forest surreal and calm. He continued to look around and cross off areas on the map with a pencil as he walked around. He had started to get annoyed very early into the search, sighing loudly or kicking up dirt. He wasn't one to be patient, but in a time like this, he needed to be as patient as possible. The island was large, so finding this dragon he shot down wasn't going to be a walk in the park for him. Especially since he was alone with this search.
Russia started running to different areas in the woods after he got impatient to the point where he was talking to himself. "Ugh...where is this damn dragon- wait unless I wasted my fucking time looking around when it could've gotten away- fuck!" Russia cursed under his breath as he clenched the map so hard it had almost ripped. Russia looked up at the sky, looking through the tree's leaves to the clouds. "Wait- I would've found the remains of the net then." Russia realized, looking back down at the map and at all the 'x's he had marked. Scribbling over the map in frustration before seeing that he had missed an entire area near the east coast of the forest, or wilderness, of the island. "Holy shi-" Russia cursed before running in the direction of the unmarked area on the map. Dodging trees and jumping over logs and whatnot.
Now filled with hope once more, getting excited. Checking his pocket for his dagger, which drove him even more with motivation. Murdering this dragon was his only hope, think of cutting out its heart and giving it to his father for acceptance. He wanted to be accepted by his people so badly, that it drove him to the point where wanted to kill any dragon. So annoyed by the fact it was still breathing under the same sky as him, and it wasn't dead yet, and he was still living the life he was always living. "I'm going to drag this dragon's body to my father, its head may hand within the meeting hall, and I will be praised for such a deed," Russia muttered to himself with hate, pure and utter hate. He slowed down once he thought he reached the area. He was looking down at his map, and looking at the environment around him.
Empty. No sign of a fallen dragon. Russia sighed to himself with disappointment. "Who am I kidding? The gods hate me, how I managed to lose an entire dragon is beyond me." Russia said to himself before smacking a jagged branch in front of him. Before it swung back and hit him straight in the face. Making him rub his face with his right hand and groaning. Before looking up at the tree. Split in half, one half leaned over. Then he continued walking and tripped, the ground dipped in, as something slid before falling off the very short cliff. Russia looked at it with a face of disbelief. He took a peak beyond the edge of the short cliff, seeing the night fury trapped within the net he had shot at. Russia immediately ducked down, breathing heavily. Smiling, being overjoyed. "Yes!" Russia whispered happily to himself. Russia took out his dagger, jumped down, and slowly approached the downed dragon. It seemed to be asleep, and its loud breathing was audible to Russia.
The hand he held the dagger in started to shake slightly. Was he feeling scared? Why though? This was his chance? Russia looked at the night fury. "This fixes everything!" Russia announced to himself, before analyzing the dragon. He could've sworn it was asleep, but he could see its bright blue eyes and slit pupils staring at him. The night fury stared at him, its pupils softening once he saw Russia pause from killing him, that's just when Russia held the dagger over his head. "I'm going to kill you, Devil, I'm going take your heart out and drag your dead body to my father." The night fury growled under his breath before just giving up hope. Dropping his head to the ground. Waiting for the blade to cut deep. Russia hesitated many times, before giving up. "Fuck..I did this-" Russia admitted to himself as he knew he couldn't kill the dragon as he had been hoping for.
America's eyes shot up, his pupils dilated to sharp slits as he heard the sound of the net he was trapped in being cut. He looked back to see what was going on. 1 rope cut....then the 2nd.......now the 3rd. America could feel his body and limbs becoming freed. The 4th had been cut. America took this chance to jump on top of Russia, leaving Russia pinned to a rock behind him. He seemed furious. America's claws held Russia down against the rock. 2 claws on either side by his throat, and or collarbone. America stared into Russia's eyes, Russia stared back in fear, fearing that the night fury was just going to kill him. A plasma blast to the face. Well, that sounded like an unfortunate death. Russia winced when America opened his mouth widely. Instead of a plasma blast to the face, he let out a scratch-like roar. Deafening Russia for a few moments as America turned away and tried to fly away. Instead, he fell right back down to the earth on his way. Letting out other screech-like roars on his way down. Russia got up, and the dagger in his hand dropped to the ground as he fell to the ground as well.
It was soon night, and Russia didn't turn back when it came to the night fury he encountered- well the one that he shot down. Russia was still shaken up by the encounter. He saw his father sitting in the living room, trying to sneak past him and upstairs to his room, "Rus..we need to talk." His father stated without looking at Russia. Russia paused, before going back down. "About what." Russia, more or so said instead of asking. "You get your wish, DKT." His father announced. "Dragon Killing Training? Seriously? But- Dad- Holy shi..." Russia was terrified, even if it was his lifelong dream before. He knew he couldn't kill a dragon, if he couldn't kill that random night fury he shot down, he would never be able to kill any dragon. Russia was too remorseful towards the beings, and he knew that. "Dad- I rethought what I wanted- I don't want to do it-" His father paused, looking at Russia as if he was crazy. "Are you serious?" "I can't kill dragons-" Russia said with embarrassment in himself. "But you will kill dragons." His father encouraged, "I'm very sure I won't." Russia then replied again. The room fell silent as his father was getting angry and Russia was just ashamed of himself. "You're going. I'm going out tomorrow morning, searching for the devil's nest." His father said, everyone usually nicknamed dragons 'devils'. Russia looked away, and just nodded slightly. "Yuh-huh." "I'll be back, maybe." His father said, making his way out the front door. "-And I'll be here, maybe." Russia said before the front door closed and Russia was left alone. In the living room.
"Fuck..fuck, fuck fuck fuck.." Russia cursed to himself under his breath as stared at the floor. Just annoyed as his father didn't listen to him. He looked towards the fire place, scoffing as if the fire had been the one who upset him and went up stairs. Once Russia was in his room he took out a notebook. Flipping through pages among pages and pages of drawings. Until he found an empty page. Started to drift off as his mind went on autopilot as he sketched out the night fury's face. As he needed a candle for light, as it had gotten dark so fast in his room. His room dimly lit by the candle's dancing fire upon its wick.
