Where is my mind? - Pixies

Chen woke up to his alarm that was ringing loudly in his left ear. He groaned lazily and smacked the device a few times until the room went quiet. Chen laid in bed for a few minutes, then sat up, lightly rubbing his eyes. His mom usually worked a lot but that didn't necessarily matter given he wasn't home much anyway. He got ready for school. Chen was currently trying to major in visual arts or music because he didn't want to do something he didn't enjoy. Given that it was particularly early, Chen wasn't in a rush, so he ate his breakfast calmly while looking at the TV that was set on the news. "Can the world go by without arguments of government shit?" he mumbled and changed the channel to some cooking show.

Needless to say, the food on there looked way more appetizing than what he was eating. After a while, Chen got ready and also cleaned up the place a bit before heading out. Since he lived a bit far from the city, he had to take the bus, which wasn't always something he looked forward to. Chen was listening to 'Where is my mind?' by Pixies while scrolling through his social media. While he wasn't the most famous person, he wasn't a loner, although personally, Chen didn't care about popularity. It might be because what he does is genuinely interesting to others, or they just think he's cute. Chen was interrupted by a scene on the other side of the street. He stared for a few seconds, and just like every other person, he walked over to see what was going on, peering over taller people's shoulders as he did. After a while, he got bored and continued to make his way to the bus station. Apparently some homeless man attacked some college teacher all of a sudden, but nothing that would have interested Chen at the least.

Richie had fallen asleep on the couch the night before. He wouldn't admit it, but the beer cans around him weren't from some huge party he had going on. He tended to take a few drinks from his dad's mini-fridge in the basement. His dad didn't mind; it was his mom he was more worried about. So when he woke up the next morning, his aching head wasn't much help while he started cleaning up his mess. He placed the last tin can in the trash before he headed to the kitchen. He knew his parents wouldn't be at home, so Richie got to spend the day doing whatever he wanted most of the time. Not that he didn't already do that. He grabbed a box of honey-nut Cheerios as he poured it inside his bowl and took the milk out of the fridge, taking a whiff and making sure his dad didn't forget to buy a new container. It smelled fine, so he eagerly poured the milk inside.

Richie set his bowl in the sink before heading upstairs. He had been planning on changing his clothes before he randomly got lazy and just stayed in the ones he had already been wearing. He slipped his shoes on as he walked out the door, closing it behind him. He grabbed his bike out of the garage and pushed the button, making it close. He swung his leg over it before taking off. With how many times his mom had told him to just take the bus, you'd think he'd been in some type of biking accident or something, which wasn't far off. He smashed into a car once. He protested that it wasn't his fault and that the car had been in the way, but he'd just been a bit drunk at the time.
