Winters War Phase 3: Some Kind of Monster

Part 24

Bucky and Daisy were sneaking through the secret hallways. They just left a hallway with cells and now they've entered one with what seemed like torture cells. Suddenly Bucky stood still in front of a torture cell and saw a machine he wished never saw again, the Memory Suppressing Machine.
While gazing at it he remembered the times he got wiped by Vasily Karpov and Alexander Pierce. He even imagined how Julia got wiped. A voice woke up from his trance.

"We're back online!" Jemma's voice in his comms.

Bucky took a deep relieved breath as he turned around to look at Daisy. Also she looked relieved.

"Everybody, tell me your location," his friend Steve followed.

"Sam and I had an ambush by an Inhuman. I removed him from the building," they heard Wanda. "We are now on our way to Julia."

Bucky and Daisy listened to the conversation in the comms while standing still.

"How's her condition?" Steve asked, with concern in his voice

"I removed a bullet and the control device from her back. However, she has lost the feeling in her legs."

Bucky let out a soft curse.

"She told us about where the Terrigen Crystals were. We brought her to the location," Wanda continued. "She said she can be cured by them but she wanted us to leave her alone. Perhaps Bucky is with her now."

"Bucky, how is she?" Steve asked with concern in his voice.

Bucky bowed his head as he remembered Julia, being like a statue. He looked up when he felt a gentle hand on his shoulder. It was Daisy with a reassured expression on her face.

"You can tell them," she convinced him with a soft voice.

Bucky took a deep breath and laid a finger on his comm.

"Julia is..." he stuttered.

Suddenly a wall exploded apart, just yards away from them and they saw Julia flying through the gap, smacking against a wall across the havoc.

"Julia!" Bucky screamed out and ran to her.

"Oh my goodness," Daisy called out and followed Bucky.

"What's happening out there?" Steve questioned, as he heard the explosion in the comms.

Julia was coughing as she struggled to sit up. Bucky dropped on his knees in front of her. He saw cuts on her face, blood from her nose and her burned arm. He even noticed the collar around her neck, only this one looks different from the one she wore in Austria. Also he saw a broken stick coming out of her left shoulder.

"Talk to me, Julia!" he begged as he laid a gloved hand on her cheek.

"Please. Don't touch me," she begged dazed with a rough voice and gently removed his hand.

"Don't worry. I'm wearing a glove. What happened?" he asked, concerned.

She opened her eyes and the first thing she saw was Bucky and his lost arm.

"You're hurt."

"I'll be fine. Trust me," Bucky reassured.

"Guys, we've found Julia and she's injured. We will come to the QuinJet as fast as we can," Daisy reported in the comms.

Behind them, Julia saw the Inhuman approaching them. Unsteady, she stood up.

"Julia, stay down," Bucky warned but Julia ignored him.

"Daisy, behind you!" Julia called out huskily when she took a few steps forward.

Daisy looked around her shoulder, and saw the Inhuman approaching them. She held out her hand and an airwave blew him away. Quickly she faced back at Bucky and Julia. She saw Julia still walking towards her.
