Julia woke up with a jolt as she was panting and sweating in fear from a bad dream. She got scared when she noticed she was in a strange bed, in a strange area. In the background she heard somebody talking.
"Good morning, Miss Berger," a British voice filled the room.
But Julia wasn't in the presence as flashes of her memories of her dream kept on looping in her mind. She squeezed her eyes and took her head in her hands, hoping the flashes would stop.
"Miss Berger, I suggest you do some breathing exercises Mister Wilson once taught you. Doctor Simmons is on her way."
"Where am I?" she wondered softly and tried to control her breathing.
With frightened eyes the teenager looked around her. She saw she was in a hospital room. A beeping sound took her attention and noticed she was hooked up on a heart monitor.
"You are in the medical wing of the Avengers compound," she heard the unknown voice.
"Who are you?" she asked as she tried to take her breath.
"I am JARVIS. A natural-language user interface computer system, created by Tony Stark."
Next to her she saw Sam sitting slump in a chair with his eyes closed.
"Sam!" she called out as she saw his taped hand and looked unconscious.
"Don't worry, Miss Berger. Mister Wilson is asleep. His hand has no fractures and is just taped for support."
But she didn't listen and jumped out of the bed. Her feet were tangled around the blanket and made her fall. By her fall, the IV in her hand and the oxygen tube from her nose got ripped out.
Jemma entered the room and rushed to the fallen teen. Julia was clearly in panic as she was fighting with the blankets around her feet."Relax, Julia," Jemma soothed as she squatted next to her. "Let me help you."
Tears welled up in Julia's eyes as she got freed from the blankets. Jemma embraced her carefully without touching her skin and let her cry.
Sam woke up slowly and saw them on the floor. He left his seat and crouched next to the crying teenager. He laid a hand on her back."Nightmares again?" he asked worriedly.
"They are after me," the teen stuttered scared as she released Jemma from the embrace.
"Who?" Jemma asked while she investigated Julia's bloody hand.
"HYDRA. They wanted revenge. They killed Wanda, Steve, Bucky...." She gazed at Sam. "You."
Jemma went to a medical cabinet to grab a clean bandage. Carefully, Sam lifted Julia up and laid her back into her bed.
"Not going to happen, sweetheart. We have a high security system right now. Right, JARVIS?" Sam reassured as he laid Julia back on the mattress.
"Yes, Sir. At this moment there are eight people inside the building. All code green."
"See?"
Julia felt suspicious but she tried to believe Sam's words.
"How's the legs?" Sam asked worriedly.
"They still feel kind of numb but I can move them," Julia answered as she moved her feet under the duvet.
Jemma came back and placed a clean bandage over Julia's hand.
"What's the last thing you remember?" Jemma asked, checking in if she had memory loss.
Julia looked away in shame.
"Shot myself with Daisy's gun," she answered.
"Well, you were lucky it was a tranquilizer gun. Did you know that?"
