I woke up to the sound of my alarm blaring from the bedside table. I fought between wanting to fall back asleep and getting ready for the day, ultimately choosing to get out of bed and get ready for the day. I started by making myself a drink and washing my face while I waited. I poured my drink and sat on the couch, turning the TV on and turning to the news channel, scrolling through a few social media sites. As I drank my coffee, I decided to message Emily. Her response was almost instant.

You: Good morning, how did you sleep?

Emily: Good, thank you, love.

Emily: Do you want to grab breakfast with me?

You: Yeah, sounds good!

Emily: Meet me in reception in 15 minutes?

You: See you then <3

15 minutes later, I was in the foyer of the hotel, waiting for Emily. My breath caught in my throat when I saw her. Emily's outfit outlined her body perfectly and she'd straightened her hair, which was down to the middle of her stomach. She walked towards me, her heels clicking on the floor as she walked.

"Hi, beautiful," I stated, watching as Emily blushed.

"Thank you, darling. You look beautiful too. Where do you want to go?" We walked towards the exit of the hotel, Emily's hand resting on the small of my back. She spotted a coffee shop on the corner of the street and decided that we were going to try to go there.

Emily insisted on ordering and paying for me, calling it an 'unofficial date,' even going as far as glaring at me when I tried to pay with my card.

"Let me take care of you, sweet girl," she said. "Go and find a table for us to sit at?" The comment was half a question and half a command, and I obliged her request by finding a table by the window.

We talked for a while as we ate, avoiding the topic of work until we needed to head to the local police station. As we were about to leave, I heard Emily curse under her breath, and then she gave me a heads-up that the rest of the team were on their way to the coffee shop too. We stood up to leave and made our way to the entrance just as everyone else was entering.

"Morning," Emily said, smiling at Spencer and Derek. "They do some great coffee, just saying." She winked at JJ, pulling the door open.

"See you at the station guys," I said, smiling and following Emily outside.

As we walked to the SUV that Emily was driving while we were in Seattle, she laughed, joking that we always seemed to be together.

"You know," I said, sighing as I caught up with her. "I wouldn't have it any other way." I bumped my shoulder against hers, and then we parted ways to get into the car.

Once we arrived at the station, I looked through the evidence board with Emily while we waited for the rest of the team, noting the extra information Spencer had put together the night before. Shortly after we'd finished looking through the evidence, everyone else arrived and we went through everything we had, preparing to make an arrest.

Thankfully, later that day, we arrested the unsub and once he was in custody, he confessed to all of the murders. It was late by the time we finished up, so we all agreed to stay another night and head back in the morning. We all had a drink in the hotel's bar once we got back and then headed to bed.

I was just about to change into my pyjamas when there was a timid knock on the door. I wasn't sure if it was someone knocking on the door, to begin with, or if someone was banging on the wall in the next room, but when there was another knock on the door, this time more sure, I made my way to answer it.
