The morning brought no rest unto either shinobi. Naruto had kept himself awake for the duration of Madara's shift, not that there was a protest for the action other than a questioned glance for the logic of doing so. It was in trappings of comprehension that he could not find the vacancy of rest in his thoughts, there was nothing to pacify his growing questions and often- he would find his own gaze lingering over to the figure aside from him.
The sunlight filtered through the leafs with a shimmering glow, beams of light streaking over their small camp: Naruto stared at them as they rested against his fluorescent orange, mildly intrigued by their presence not burning, rather merely irritating his eyes. Brought him to sighing at his own mood dipping once again, without a reasoning, he stood and came to aid in fixing away all that they could from the evidence of their night hold. The smell was strong in his nose, near burning through his esophagus for a moment- his cough to cover it was less than discrete, although for the unexpected; he heard Madara give a snort, a slight shine of amusement raident in his regularly stoic expression. Unto himself- happily given, Naruto found himself smiling for the small action, despite the humour being made upon him, it was with an odd sense of disconcertment that the blond acknowledged such a fact and found light in their situation regardless.
The trees though bathed in the echo of an entirely different time -and indeed dimension- were not differing from his own and Naruto marked that simple understanding as a relief, especially in knowing so little of the area. Madara had taken point, and though the presumptuous position was both a wound upon his pride and a risk in with a man juxtaposed to criminality; it was a more sound solution then finding himself intrapped in with an enemy he knew nothing of with no proper defense, training or leverage in combat.
They stopped suddenly on a higher branch, Madara seemingly observing their surroundings- though Naruto would take to guessing he was determining the direction of the village by the geography. So in wait, Naruto shuffled his foot against the loose bark; seeing if he could dislodge it from the tree, oblivious to the judgeful eyes evaluating him and all the incurring movements he made- how whence he waited looking to the west with his hands clasped behind his back and the sunlight tinting his cheeks pink, he was watched in turn. Naruto, looked back towards his traveling companion to find endarkened eyes staring upon him as if having been patiently waiting to be noticed, so he in turn gave a broad grin as response- not certain of what exactly the Uchiha had been waiting for.
"Just how precisely were you chosen to host the Kyuubi?" Blue eyes blinked rapid at the response- a clear surprise for a moment an unexpected question, fluttering through his chest, though the gravity within had long since left nerves still fluctuated when asked as it had been his own question for a decade of his life. Laughing, he scratched at his neck, deciding it best to not answer. Though, his reluctance was ignored as Madara as the man simply turned his attention to something within the far distance. "You need to change." He said it once more. A pointed sweeping gaze was made towards his flashful orange attire, and Naruto winced under the well hidden glare he knew was there.
"Well, I don't really have anything else..." He could have technically gone shirtless, however, under prospect... As it were, he sighed for the rationality creeping into his thoughts, as his partner was right- his clothing was far too invoking. He unzipped his jacket and tossed it aside watching it lightly flutter to the ground, brows furrowing as he recalled that it had once been exceptionally important to him at one point. The fishnet underneath a gladful sight, though not in hiding the slight, minimal, roundness of his chest where he knew to have proud pectorial muscle- he flinched, and glared down. That was not right, his body had been aching uncomfortably since arrival and in addition his chest now felt strange; and though embarrassing to admit even in his mind- his genitals felt very odd from what he was adapt to.
