Chapter 1 ||
"Bye mother!" I yell as I grab my bag and run out the door.
"Lucas! Wait!" She says. I turn to face her.
"You forgot your earbuds, oh and don't forget, try and make new friends this year" she sighed.
"Yes mom.." I trail off. The concept of friends never made any sense to me, I mean as soon as you graduate, everyone goes their own way, no one will remember you, only if you're in the yearbook, which I never am. I ran out the door and up the street to school. First days are always the worst. Everyone stars at you. Some don't even bother taking their eyes off you. I'm just lucky, I'm not like some kids, who get beaten on a daily basis. Occasional (and by occasional, I mean everyday) name calling, is all I get.
"Hey dorkinstein" I hear one of the football players call. I just ignore them most days, like I said, I don't get beaten, it's just name calling. I shove my books in my locker and head to the assembly they have on the first day of every school year.
"Good morning students! I look forward to having a fabulous year with you all!" The principal fakes. I take a seat in the back and put on my ear buds. I press shuffle and listen to Zombie by. the Cranberries. I lay my head back and wait for this disaster to be over. By the way, if you haven't noticed, my name is Lucas Barham. I don't really do anything with my life, besides okay the drums, listen to music, make comic books, and go to school to get by.
"What's your name?" A faint voice asks, I look over to see another blonde kid. He looked like me, only like he actually sleeps, and gives a shit about his appearance.
"Lucas" I say blankly.
"I'm Gavin" he says.
