"PEDRI, I SWEAR TO GOD, STOP TEXTING YOUR HOES AND LET'S GO!" Valentina shouted from the second floor of their suite. She was growing impatient—her brother was always glued to his phone, especially when they were out, and they were in Ibiza for the Ushuaïa Festival. She wasn't about to let him ruin their night by getting distracted.
A few moments later, Pedri appeared downstairs, rolling his eyes but grinning. "Well, are you ready?"
Valentina, already in her shoes, grabbed her bag and pulled him toward the door. "Yes, now let's go!" She wasn't in the mood to waste any more time. They were both planning on having a good time, and she wasn't going to let him get in the way of that.
As they made their way to the taxi, Pedri muttered under his breath. "I don't slut around."
Valentina snorted. "Yeah, sure you don't." She shot him a teasing look, already knowing what he was getting at. Pedri threw her a side-eye but couldn't help the small grin that tugged at his lips.
The taxi ride was full of teasing and banter, with Valentina playfully mocking her brother's attempts at acting like the "responsible" older sibling, even though they were both equally ready to let loose.
The festival was already in full swing by the time they arrived. The music was so loud that it vibrated in Valentina's chest, and the sky was painted with an orange-pink glow as the sun set behind the massive stage. It was everything Valentina could've imagined—and more.
She stayed close to Pedri, laughing as they danced and drank. The crowd was a mix of people from all over, and everyone was in the mood to party. As the night went on, though, Pedri began to make friends with a few girls who had caught his eye. Valentina, feeling a little out of place, decided to wander off for a bit to find a quieter spot.
It wasn't long before she ended up sitting on a bench near the edge of the festival grounds, scrolling through her phone, trying to escape the noise for a moment. But just as she was starting to relax, she heard a familiar voice that made her stop mid-scroll.
"Long time no talk, princesa."
Valentina's head whipped up in surprise, her heart leaping in her chest. Standing in front of her was Ferran Torres, looking as handsome as ever, though there was a trace of nervousness in his eyes. It had been almost a year since they last spoke—since his breakup with his ex-girlfriend. Valentina had always been in love with Ferran, but his ex had never liked their friendship, and over time, it had caused a distance between them.
"Hey, Ferran," Valentina said, trying to keep her cool despite the sudden rush of emotions she felt seeing him. There was a mix of excitement and caution, but mostly, she was just happy to see him again.
Ferran sat beside her, his body language awkward but warm. Neither of them knew quite how to start the conversation, but the weight of the unspoken history between them hung in the air like a cloud.
