A tear runs down her cheek
She's trying not to cry
She wipes the tear away
And then she wonders why
It's hard to swallow
Her mouth is dry
She looks at her phone
And then she wonders why
An airpod she puts back in her ear
She smiles and wipes away the tear
She no longer questions why
When asked if ok she says she's fine
She's told to take the airpod out
Everyone begins to shout
But the airpod is out
She continues to wonder why
She watches as everyone has fun
They play with their friends
They enjoy the sun
But she doesn't
She watches and wonders why
She sits in a corner
All dark and black
She watches them talk
She watches them laugh
She remains jealous and wonders why
She tries and tries
She still wonders why
Why does she have no friends?
Why does everyone dislike her?
Why cant she talk out loud?
Why do people distance from her?
Why will no one talk to her?
Why is she alone?
All she has is her phone
When she wonders why, she looks at her phone
Even when she is at home, she wonders why then listens to her phone
She remembers all of the why's, but then she looks at her phone
What would she do without her phone?
They think it's a distraction
Influencing bad decisions
Causing failure to all actions
But in her eyes it's her life
Music is her life
Three artists save her life
They don't, won't, and never will understand
She can't live without her phone, she just can't.
With her phone and with the music
She never has to cry
She never has to wonder why
She gives up and doesn't try
She starts to decide
She doesn't need friends
They're fake anyway
They're just pretend
Although her happiness fades
The music gets her through it all
She has no one
But the music helps her up when she falls
Music is her path to life
Gives her a break from asking why
The whys are still there, but are silenced
Music gets her away from all the violence
But she is still the girl that will always wonder why
She is I
And I wonder why
