Everything was... cold without them. Cori sat next to her brother Drax. Well, not brother, but they were close enough to be brother and sister.

"The controls are almost ready so we can finally leave this place," Cori said determinedly, quickly whipping sweat from her forehead while working on the pod's wiring. She was twelve already! If they didn't leave soon, both she and Drax would be taken to the new colony.

"If anything happens to me, sis, I want you to take this and run," Drax said, pressing an odd stone with cyan lights into Cori's palms. She snorted in response.

"What do you mean if anything happens to you? We're both getting out of here." Cori said sternly, finishing up the wiring to the control sticks. Even though she denied it, she tucked the stone into one of her button pockets.

...

"Is she gonna be okay?"

"We're not sure, but the answer is probably yes, as cryo chambers can heal grievous injury. She did have a pretty bad head wound though..."

Cori ran to a body that lay limp on the floor, surrounded by a pool of purple-ish red blood

Cori ran to a body that lay limp on the floor, surrounded by a pool of purple-ish red blood.

"Drax!" she screamed, crumbling to her knees. She held the dead body of her brother close to her, not able to even cry. She couldn't waste time. She slowly stood back up, eyes dead, just staring at the sentries as they began to shoot at her. One of them shot her in the right shoulder, and she grimaced as blood started to flow from the burn. She quickly ducked behind a section of the wall and took out her blaster she found in her parent's old room and shot at the sentrys. In a matter of moments, the robots lay on the ground with numerous holes blown through them.

Cori knelt next to Drax and shut his eyes, then stood up to continue on through the building they had found on a moon orbiting the planet the colony resided on.

...

"Is she waking up?"

"I'm not sure, but her mental signature is spiking."

"Guys, just remember not to overwhelm her with questions when she wakes up. Even if she did keep that a secret for who knows how long."

Cori was making her way through the chambers of the building, and opened the next door. What she expected to see, was more of those weird canisters full of glowing liquid. But this time, the entrance slid open to reveal a huge vestibule full from floor to ceiling with pods of some kind, covered in dust.

Cautiously, she stepped forward and wiped the dust away on one, to reveal... Glaxar's face? What? But... he was headed to the new colony.

She wiped away dust on another, and another.
