I sleep without having any dreams. Because my mind is clear. Probably, exhausted. I can listen to the alarm. It is making noise, to wake me up. But I feel good, in my bed.

It's 5 am. I have to wake up. I have to fight. I just keep telling this to myself.

I live in Sakura Heights, a small town. I am planning to move to Tokyo, for my studies. But I have a lot to figure out. A lot of things are still waiting, to be solved.

I come from a simple yet traditional family.  We lived together, in a big joint family.

But then, one day, my father never returned home. We tried searching everywhere but failed.  The police and all the people in our city did their best. But I guess, it was not enough.  He was never found.

Soon after that, my mom's mental condition deteriorated. She was taken to the hospital.  But she can no longer take care of us.  So I started living with my grandma.  My uncle and his family moved to a different city. 

We don't know where they are. We haven't received any news from them in the years.

Every day, I go to the nearby shrine. I pray for my mom, and for everyone who is suffering. 

I help my grandma make lunch and get things done. She is over 90, and she is the sweetest person I have ever known.

I look at my watch, and I am probably late. I need to run...
