Aria POV

"We're taking the bus," Sana announces to the group of people, which includes me too, There were a total of 13 people, including me. And I couldn't protest against her because I wasted all my money on the game card. Yes,  I am stupid, and buses are the cheapest thing I could afford right now.

I put my earphones on, got on the bus. There was no seat available, but at least I have music with me. Everything was going okay, I was holding the pole for dear life, and the bus started getting more crowded. I was enjoying the music, the weather was nice, seems like it's going to rain.

And the thing happened that I was not expecting, but it was not surprising, a perverted old man couldn't control his urges and was sticking to me like glue, taking advantage of the crowd.

"Sir, could you please move a little back?" I said it with all due respect because he was old, and we respect elders until they give us reasons not to. "Oh, okay," he smiled, his creepy smile moving as I told him, and he came right back where he was after a few seconds.

I pushed him back with my elbow and did everything I could, but he wouldn't budge, this old perverted man. How do I solve this and, at the same time, not get unnecessary attention?

So, I stabbed his feet with the heel of my sneakers, and he screamed in pain, Take that oldie. Everyone on the bus stared at the man as he panicked and got off the bus in a rush, like his pants were on fire. Oh! How I wish it really was.

"That was dope, Aria di," the younger girl that was standing beside me said. I forced a smile and hid my trembling hands.

(Di or didi means sister or older sister.)

_______________

"Welcome back.." Aria's mom, Shanaz, trailed when she rushed past her and locked herself in the room. Taimur looks at his mom. "She doesn't look good," Taimur said in concern. Her mother frowns and goes to check up on her.

Her mother opens the door and looks at her, laying down all wrapped up in a burrito, "What's wrong, Aria? Are you crying? Get up, girl." She pulled Aria up with all her strength, and she really was crying.

"What's wrong, Beta? Did anyone say anything to you? Tell me." She wipes her tears. "I wasted all the money. Jsutbecauaaaaahh," she cries. "Stop crying and speak properly."

She tells her everything that happened today and how she was harassed, and no one did anything, not even the girl she knew standing beside her.

"He was literally poking his little bean on my butt, and I stomped his leg so hard, I wish I could crush his nasty banana the same way," Aria says incoherently while sobbing.

"You know I don't like to make a scene, I am so freaking introverted. I had to request a
person to order me food, but I got rejected. People are mean; I want to sleep."

"There there… Why won't you make a scene when the man is in the wrong? He should be the one being embarrassed, not you. If something like this happens the next time, I hope nothing like this happens again, but just in case you kick him where it hurts the most. Don't care about anyone, you do what you feel is right." Her mother embraced her in a warm hug.

"What did I just hear? Is the man still alive and breathing? You tell me how he looks. It looks like I will dig him out of his grave and bury him again. How dare he touch my  sister?" Aria pulled her brother in for a hug too, because she couldn't digest his love right now.

"Stop talking, you're not being you, Taimur." She whispers in embarrassment, but she feels good from inside that his little brother is taking a stand for her.

"That was my anger speaking, Did you know you look ugly when you cry?" Her fluttering heart stopped fluttering, and she kicked her brother off her bed. "And I thought you had a heart."

"Just you wait until I grow up." He stands up with all his dignity, straightens his back, puffs his chest, and leaves the room.

"What did you feed him?" Aria asked her mom, who was smiling mischievously, "The food I usually make, a lot of healthy food, vegetables, and..." Aria stopped her mom from speaking.

"Okay, okay, I get it now, Let me sleep in peace." She wraps herself in the blanket.
pretending to sleep, her mom knows that she is not going to fall asleep so soon, but she switches off the light and leaves the room.

The moment Aria heard the door close, she pulled out her phone, expecting him to message, but there were no messages. Disappointed, she closes her eyes, pretends to sleep, and eventually falls into a dreamless sleep.
