Aria: What do you wish to be, Augustus?

Augustus: A doctor.

Aria: Aha! You've become every Asian parent's dream child by saying that. Your parents must be proud of you.

Augustus: Perhaps. I would never know. My parents passed away when I was ten.

Aria: Oh, Augustus, I'm so sorry. That must have been incredibly tough.

Augustus: It was, but it also shaped me into who I am today. I’ve learned to rely on myself and find strength within.

Aria: You're stronger than you realize. Losing parents at such a young age and still aspiring to help others as a doctor is admirable.

Augustus: Thank you, Aria. It's not something I discuss often, but I believe our past experiences can drive us to achieve great things.

Aria: Absolutely. Our scars tell stories of resilience and growth. My childhood wasn’t perfect either, but it made me who I am.

Augustus: Would you care to share more about it?

Aria: Sure, why not. My family is pretty typical, I guess. We’ve had our fair share of ups and downs. My parents are strict, and sometimes it feels like I have to fight to be myself.

Augustus: That must be challenging, feeling like you have to constantly assert your identity.

Aria: It is. But it’s also taught me to be bold and unapologetic about who I am. Life’s too short to be anything else, right?

Augustus: Indeed. It's commendable that you’ve maintained such a positive outlook despite the challenges.

Aria: Thanks, Augustus. I think it’s important to find the silver linings. Like meeting you, for example. Our conversations have been a breath of fresh air.

Augustus: I appreciate that, Aria. Your energy and perspective are quite refreshing as well.

Aria: So, do you have any fond memories of your parents? Anything that keeps you going?

Augustus: I do. They instilled in me a deep sense of duty and compassion. My mother was a nurse, and my father was a teacher. Their dedication to helping others inspired my own aspirations.

Aria: That’s beautiful. They’d be proud of the person you’re becoming.

Augustus: Thank you, Aria. And what about you? What keeps you motivated?

Aria: Honestly, the desire to live a life that’s true to me. I want to experience everything, learn, grow, and maybe make a difference in someone’s life, just like you want to as a doctor.

Augustus: That’s a noble goal, Aria. And I have no doubt you’ll achieve it with your determination and spirit.

Aria: I will.
