After Abelia returned with the items, the head maid immediately dismissed her and she returned to her quarters.
Since it was early in the evening, Abelia knew that her family would be in the dining room. Rather than approach them, she went her way to her quarters since they wouldn't bother with anything.
But that's when she had the misfortune of running into her sister, "I thought I smelled something horrid. It was just my voiceless sister, Abelia. Have you fallen into a drainage recently?"
Abelia lowered her head in discomfort, and Coralie just snickered at her look, "Well, it doesn't matter whether you fell into a drainage or not. Instead, you should clean yourself up... Before you stink the very halls of this esteemed manor,"
Abelia doesn't nod nor gaze into her sister. Instead, she just left and Coralie called for a maid. For she needed a bath to rid herself of Abelia's stench.
By the time she returned to her quarters, she received tonight's dinner which only consisted of slices of bread and a glass of water. Barely enough to satisfy her appetite, but she wouldn't waste it since this is all hers.
After finishing her meal, she tossed herself onto her bed and went to sleep. Never pondering about the days ahead of her.
That's when she had a peculiar dream...
What she saw was a workplace filled with several men. Their conditions vary from mild to severe and few women were tending to their injuries. She witnessed every procedure done to mend their wounds, then it changed to a physician tending to the critical patients.
The way they tend to the patient is expected among professional physicians as the amount of blood on their patient and hands does not faze them, they are intensely focused on the procedure, and their hands are incredibly steady in handling surgical tools.
After what felt like minutes, the physician stepped away from his patient, brought his surgical tools to a sterile environment, and cleansed himself with pure water.
Abelia couldn't understand the purpose of this dream, but she soon felt the physician's gaze as their eyes met. His workplace soon dissipates around them and the physician gives a nod to Abelia.
She tries to reach her hand at them, but they too dissipate like the area around them.
When morning came, Abelia sat right up from her bed and scanned her surroundings. Once she registered her surroundings, she wondered what that physician wanted. But the sound of the head maid's call caused her to drop the topic and wear a maid's outfit.
Mid Afternoon
Abelia was cleaning the dishes after a morning routine of her sister's harassment. Even though she learned to ignore it, she can't help but feel demoralized by her harmful words.
But what got into her mind was that dream. Did she know who that physician was? Were they related to her somehow? Did they want something from her?
She would never know as she finished the last plate of the sink.
After drying her hands with a towel, she plans on handling her other chores for the day. But as she reached the hallway, she heard a familiar voice in the manor, "Abelia,"
She stops dead in her tracks and hesitates to turn her towards the voice. After a deep breath, she turned and the brown-haired man standing meters away was none other than Gram De'Chaulet himself.
He approaches her, and Abelia greets him with a maid's bow rather than a noble one, "I would like to have a word with you in my studies this evening. Not a minute late, do you understand?"
