They say that drinking coffee is a canon event for everyone transitioning into adulting. I can verify real coffee isn't your average white vanilla bean frappe you get at your local Starbucks. Real coffee....

Real coffee tastes like ass, just like life.

It's my 10 am alarm going off.

"It's 10..."

I jump out of bed as fast as I can and start rushing because my 10 o'clock alarm was my back up alarm to my 6, 6:30, 7, 7:30, 8, 8:30, 9, 9:30 alarm. They say online that cold showers are beneficial for your well being. It might of had its first initial benefits in the beginning but at this point maybe I should google if taking cold showers all the time is maybe bad for you?

Showered, check.

Clothes, check.

Phone? Damn it.

I finally make it out the front door locking up and made sure I have everything I need for the day. I think.

" Good morning (f/n)!"

That's my neighbor, Max. He's a nice guy, maybe sometimes a little too nice? Reason to why he's a little too nice is that he always offers to invite me over to his apartment when he learned a new recipe. I always politely decline.

When you live in a city it's pointless to have a car. Maybe a bike would be nice, but never was confident in my skills. Besides, its a nice day out. We are in season of fall and the colors of the leaves are so warm and cozy.

*ching*

The door chimes at my work never let me sneak in quietly..

" Ahem! (f/n) what time is your shift?"

And here we go. Fran our lovely manager can be a stickler at times.

" Sorry Fran, my shift started at 10:30."

This is embarrassing, the shop is half full with customers at this point.

" AND what time is it now?"

I glance at my phone.

" It's 10:32."

Fran shook his head in disapproval and finally left me alone to start my shift. I wish he wouldn't make such a scene some times but can't change Fran. Anyways time to squash this morning rush. Since it's fall you know what that means, pumpkin spice lattes. I think I've made 10 pumpkin spice lattes so far and it's only 11 o'clock.

" Good-morning! Welcome to the Tamp, what can I get for you?"

The customer is young woman that looks to be my age, maybe a two years younger even. You can tell that she probably didn't get that much rest the night before. She struggled with the menu and I could physically see her getting a headache.

" We do have our fall specials if you'd like to try them."

I motioned to our little chalkboard that we had drawn up for the holidays. She did a side-eyed glanced at it only to look back at the menu right behind me.

" You guys don't have anything like a caramel frappe like at Starbucks? "

Her tone gave off a bit of an attitude, but nothing I couldn't handle.
