TW: anxiety attack
(Harrys POV)
Harrys breath was starting to speed up and his world started to get darker. His head now feeling really light and staticky, he grabbed at his chest struggling to collect air. He could feel his pulse in his head and the sound of Zayn's voice was getting quieter and quieter by the second. Harry leaned against a wall and slid down it until his legs were spread across the floor and his back against the cold wall. Before Harry knew it, he realized Zayn was in front of him, forcing Harry's eyes to meet his.
"Harry, hey I need you to calm down. Can you follow my breathing, I need you to do what I do." Zayn calmly said while starting to take deep breaths in, and then exhaling. Harry's eyes stayed pouring into Zayn's while his breathing steadied, his tears being another story.
Still being lightheaded and shaky, Harry just fully laid down onto the dirty floor. Zayn grabbed Harry's hand and squeezed it slightly. It pained Harry to think about the last person who grabbed his hand. Harry turned to Zayn and started to speak, but was cut off before he could say anything.
"You don't need to talk about it yet if you don't want to. Take your time." Zayn whispered to Harry, who now closed his eyes and focused on his pounding head.
"Thanks." Harry managed to whisper out. "I need to talk to you though, I don't know what I would do without you. I can't lose another friend."
"What do you mean lose? What did Louis do?" Zayn said starting to sit straight up.
"He did nothing wrong, but Zayn, you know we can't be together. He said he liked me, and you know how I feel, but as we were getting closer, I realized this would fuck up everything." Harry started to feel warm tears run down his face again.
Zayn only sighed, knowing exactly what Harry was going on about. "I know Haz, but you have to try. You can't let them control your lives. Your whole future won't be the way you want it to be if you stay hidden away in a closet, literally, forever."
Harry leaned against Zayn's shoulder, "But they could actually take away everything we've ever worked so hard for, and I know the band means everything to Lou and I can't be the reason that's taken from him."
"Harry if I'm being completely honest, I think Louis would leave everything he's ever known to be with you, but I understand, it's difficult, but I really think you guys need to be strong for each other."
Harry just hummed in response and the two stayed in that position for a long time until Niall found them and told them it was time for their interview.
1 month later
(Louis POV)
It had been a month since the dressing room incident, and none of them have spoken about it. They went back to normal, well as normal as it can be when you're in the room with the person you love and they can't seem to want to be with you in return. Well that wasn't completely the truth. Louis knew why Harry didn't want to be with him, but all Louis wanted was for him to try. They could make it work, keep it a secret, only tell their closest mates, keep it within their families. Only if there wasn't consequences for their actions, they would probably be married by now.
It was now December, and Louis birthday was in a week. Louis was going home for the holidays and the boys were coming with. The rest would stay in a hotel down the street from Louis' families house, and they were planning on spending Louis birthday and Christmas all together.
The icy air was stinging Louis face as he walked back to his hotel for the week. They were currently on tour, but were going on break for a few months until starting back up again in March. Louis' eyes watched his feet on the sidewalk going one after the other getting lost in his thoughts. Just because Louis and Harry never talked about what happened, don't mean the day doesn't replay in Louis, (and Harry's), head 24/7.
