In solitude I find my peace,
For trust is a fleeting thing,
People come and people go,
Leaving behind shattered dreams.I've walked on paths of broken glass,
And stumbled on rocks of betrayal,
I've seen the pleasure in their eyes,
When I've fallen and hit the ground. But when I rise, with strength renewed, Their stunned gazes fill the air,
Their words of love and support,
Mere echoes, devoid of care.I've learned to see beyond their lies,
Their artifice, their painted masks,
For in their ugliness, I've been blinded,
By their shallow, hollow tasks.I trust no one but my true self,
For in solitude, I find my way,
And though I may not see you again,
My heart will guide me day by day.For when I walk through life and death, With eyes wide open, clear and bright,
I see no one but my true self,
And that, my friend, is my guiding light.Copyrights reserved
