REMOTE'S POV:
Sunlight bleeds through my window, waking me.
I sit up. There's something around my wrist..?
Oh. Right, the soulmate thing.
I lift my hand up.
The string on my wrist, it looks.. strange?
It's short, not connected to anything, and it's not glowing, it's dim and grey.
Does.. does that mean I don't have a soulmate?
I guess I should've expected this.. it's still really disheartening, though.
I sigh and get out of bed.

I walk over to where my team, Death P.A.C.T, is sitting.
"Hey, Remote." Black Hole says. I wave to him.
Liy walks over to me. "Hi, Remote." She smiles, but her smile fades when she notices my string. "You didn't get a soulmate?" She looks at me sympathetically. "No..." "I'm sorry.." "It's alright..." I glance at her string. It's glowing a bright pink, and it's connected to, what I'm assuming, is a faraway person's wrist.
I feel a slight pang of... I don't know... Heartbreak, maybe..? I've always had feelings for Liy, and it hurts a bit imagining her with someone else...
That sounds really selfish, doesn't it?
"Um, Remote? Earth to Remote??" Liy waves her hand in my face. "Huh..?" "You kinda spaced out for second there. You okay?" "Yeah... I'm okay." Liy nods. "If you say so... But, if you ever need someone to talk to, I'm here." "Thanks, Liy..." I smile. She smiles back.
