It's Alright, Ma (I'm Only Bleeding)

"I think Callie wants me to leave." Penny said, walking up to Ophelia at the ER nurse's station.

"Okayyy? Why would you think that?" Ophelia asked, continuing looking at the computer.

"Because, when I told her that I hadn't said yes to the Preminger Grant, she was surprised!" Penny said, waving her hand about, "I mean, shouldn't I talk to her about it first, before I move to New York?"

"Well, yes, but the Preminger Grant is a once in a lifetime opportunity." Ophelia pointed out, pulling out her pager as she got paged. She began to walk, Penny trailing after her.

"Can you, like, hint at her to find out what she wants me to do? Because she's not giving me anything!" Penny practically begged.

"Fine, fine, now go do your resident shit." Ophelia said, pulling a pair of gloves on as she walked up to Jo.

The guy sneezed, and his stomach swelled up really far, like unaturally far.

"Reggie has a hernia." Jo said, pointing out the obvious.

"Yeah, I can see that." Ophelia said, slightly in shock.

"It's just so hard, Fee. The child literally walked into the room as her dad was having a seizure." Amelia said over the phone. The two weren't going to be able to see each other for a while, so they made a plan to call between their patients, "I mean, how do you work in peds and trauma? I mean, I'm not even working with the kid and I'm upset!"

"Well, everytime my patient sneezes, his hernia literally grows. It's bizarre!" Ophelia said excitedly.

"Did you just use the word bizarre?" Amelia asked amusedly.

"Yes, because his case is bizarre! What else do you want me to say?"

"I don't know, strange, unusual? But using bizarre is just..."

"Bizarre?" Ophelia joked, and Amelia laughed.

"Yes, it is bizarre. Anyway, I've got to go. Love you, bye."

Ophelia said love you back, and then hung up the phone, heading back over to Reggie, April joining them.

"Post-surgical hernias are not actually all that uncommon, but given it's size, we're gonna need to do a special procedure to close the gap without tension on the- what are you doing?" April asked, watching him feel his stomach, or, well, mostly hernia.

"Um, I've gotten into the habit of just sort of shoving it all back in there. Is that not OK?" Reggie admitted.

"Oh God, please don't-" Ophelia began, but was cut off by the curtains opening and Jackson standing there.

The Latina glanced between April and Jackson, unsure of what to make of the situation.

"Um, Wilson, Lopez, we will be right  back." April held the curtain so Jackson could come past, and the two walked off.

Regfie began to pull a weird face, and then he sneezed, causing his hernia to grow again.

"Holy crap!" Jo yelled.
