You pulled into the parking lot of the grocery store, and parked your car. You grabbed a cart, and entered the grocery store. You began going down the list, and while you did you thought you heard the subtle voice of your husband through a speaker. You saw a girl in the period product aisle, while she sobbed, you decided to listen in.
"You can't leave me! I-I spent hours of my time on you, Gojo Satoru!"
You heard his voice respond through the speaker. "You got boring, Ayane. I told you at the very beginning this was probably one time thing. Just because I fucked you twice, and once right after my wedding, doesn't mean--"
"Wedding?! You're married?!"
His sigh of annoyance was heard through the speaker, "I--just..." he groaned, "the main point, is this is over. Your sister came onto me, and I liked her better. I don't have time for both of you. So goodbye, and don't think about calling me again."
He hung up, and the girl was left along, with her phone falling from her ear.
You slowly approached her, and gave her a much-needed hug, "I heard your conversation."
She looked at you straight in the eye, and began to sob onto your shoulder.
You rubbed her back and held her till she stopped crying. She stood up and rubbed her eyes, her makeup smearing.
"Are you okay?" You held her hands, and looked her in her eyes.
She shook her head, "This guy I slept with broke up with me, and didn't tell me he was married!"
You nodded, "I-I know...he's ummm...he's my husband..." You hung your head in shame.
She gasped, and immediately pulled away, "I swear I didn't know--"
"Oh no no no no! I didn't mean to reprimand you. I know he's been cheating...let's just say...it's a marriage of convenience." You hung your head in shame and embarrassment.
"O-oh...I'm sorry..."
"It's alright. There's nothing you can do about him cheating. You didn't know."
"He sure has a way of sweet-talking women." She looked down, and kicked at the ground.
"Does he?"
"Does he not do it to you?"
You shook your head, "He hates me."
"Oh...I'm sorry...that must be hard to have a husband who hates you."
"We just don't talk."
"That must be so awkward though!" She stared you in the eye, with a concerned expression, "Tell you what, I'm Ayane, and if you ever need to get away from the awkward tension, call me and I'll give you my address so we can have a girls night." She smiled and handed you a slip of paper with her name and number.
"O-Oh...thanks."
"What's your name?"
"Y/N..."
"Y/N, you deserve better. So if you need a hook up, call me, and I know the best place to find the hottest men. Or if you just need a shoulder to cry on, I'm here too."
"Same for you. I can comfort you like...I just did." you gave an awkward chuckle.
"Wanna shop together?"
"Oh uh...sure." You grabbed your cart, and walked it next to her.
"You're such a cute girl, no idea how Satoru doesn't find you attractive. How do you not have a line of men at your door? Like you're just so precious and quiet and shy. So adorable and exactly what men these days want."
She definitely talked a lot, but it wasn't unwelcome. It allowed you to just listen and nod along, which was something you were fond of doing with new people.
By the time you finished shopping, she had walked you to your car, and helped you put everything in your car.
"Bye Ayane!" You waved goodbye, and she immediately embraced you.
"FYI, I'm adopting you as my introvert. You're my new best friend." She smiled, "Bye Y/N!" And left.
You smiled to yourself. This was a much-welcome pleasant surprise. Who knew you would become friends with Satoru's ex-hook up. And who knew she would be so nice to you.
This was the first positive note all week, and it allowed you to relax for once in your life, and gave you a little confidence to treat yourself to a dessert from your favorite sweet shop.
You put it away in the fridge with the rest of the groceries for after dinner.
