Mia's POV
I woke up to my alarm blaring obnoxious tunes. It rang a couple of times before I turned it off with a groan. I sluggishly hopped out of bed before I got yelled at by my mom for sleeping in late. I dragged my feet along the wooden floor into my bathroom to take a quick shower. Those 2 and half months off of school went by too fast for my liking and I am most definitely not ready to go back to school yet but I didn't have a choice but to face it and get it over with. I was just hoping this school year would go by a little bit faster.

I stepped out of the shower while grabbing my towel so I could dry myself off. I walked to my closet after throwing on a bra and underwear and grabbed my iron-pressed uniform off the hanger. I stretched the white blouse over my head and slid the black, pleated skirt up my legs, the waistband hugging my hips. I tucked in my blouse then grabbed my tie and tied it around my neck. I traveled to my dresser and picked out some white, frilly socks that stopped just over my ankles. I slid back into my bathroom and grabbed some hair supplies. I split my hair down the middle and slicked back my hair into a low ponytail leaving out a small, curly strand of hair by each of my ears. I dug through my hair bucket to find some black hair clips. I fastened them to the front part of my head on the sides.

I searched through my jewelry box to grab a pair of mini, gold hoops and attached them to my ears. I slathered on lotion and perfume that smelt of vanilla. I strolled out of the bathroom, turning the lights off on my way out, and steered my way back into the closet to grab a pair and only pair of black Mary Jane's. I also grabbed my white, knitted cardigan off the hanger because I knew for a fact those classrooms were quite literally going to freeze my fingers off.

I went down the stairs to make myself a simple breakfast; Toast with jelly slathered on it accompanied by some eggs. I heard rustling coming from my mom's room meaning she must have woken up. She stumbled down the stairs grumbling out a hoarse and groggy 'Good morning'. I offered to make her breakfast which she politely declined saying that she did not want me to be late for school. I looked at my phone checking the time. It was time for me to start heading to school. I kissed my mother's cheek and bid my farewells.

I walked to the front door and grabbed my backpack off the hook. I snatched my house and car keys out of the bowl on the shelf. I stepped out of the door and walked to my car. I heard a door close and I looked at where the noise came from. I saw a boy who looked around my age and a woman who I'm assuming is his mother. The woman looked kind and sweet, but the boy looked...impertinent and imperious. I know it's wrong to judge someone you barely know but I couldn't help it. His aura was too intimidating and it gave me bad vibes. He looked over at me and we made eye contact for a few seconds before I quickly whipped my head in the opposite direction. I hurriedly made it inside my car as if I was getting chased by a serial killer in one of those horror movies.

I calmed myself down and started my car. I plugged my phone into the USB port and played my Spotify playlist. I pulled out of the driveway and started driving to school. Now that I think back about the guy I met, he may have been a little frightening but he was kind of attractive... His two braids, sharp jawline, and plump lips. He was everything and more. I shook my head to stop myself from crushing on a guy I didn't even know the name of yet. I did notice he was wearing the same uniform as me, meaning he was most likely attending the same school as me unless there was another school that had the same uniform which I highly doubt. I just hope I don't run into him and God forbid any classes with him.

I made it to the school and as expected, it was pretty big. I parked my car and then hopped out. I locked my car and then started walking up the steps into the school. After a few minutes, the bell rang signifying that everyone should start heading to their 1st period. Once I made it there, the teacher told me I could sit anywhere I would like for now. I sat down in the seat somewhere in the middle row because I didn't want to be so close to the front but I also didn't want to be in the very back. I feel like those two spots are so uncomfortable to be in.

I guess luck was not on my side today because the guy I met this morning walked in and looked at me. We made eye contact again and then he started to walk over to where I sat. He sat right next to me and I tensed up. He turned to look at me and smirked.

"Why were you starin' so hard this morning, hm? Was there somethin' on my face?" he asked

His voice was smooth like honey and I noticed he had an accent. I felt like I was going to faint. It should be a crime for one's voice to be so attractive.

"I- I don't know...I guess I was curious..." I murmured.

I stuttered. I f**king stuttered. I've never been more embarrassed in my 16 years of living. He chuckled and that's when I noticed he had f**king dimples. I am utterly f*cked.

"Curious about what?" he asked me with that same smirk he had when he first walked over here. I shrugged and said,

"About the new neighbors, my mom mentioned it to me yesterday," I answered.

It wasn't a complete lie but you must be joking if you want me to tell him that I was staring because he was attractive. Anyway, since it was the first day we didn't have work to do. That's probably the one thing I liked about the first few days of school. He introduced himself as Miles Morales. After I introduced myself, we talked the whole period. I never would've thought he would be this social but I'm not complaining.

After School, I unlocked my front door and walked in. I was slapped full force with a delicious aroma. I took my shoes off at the front door and walked into the kitchen to find my mom cooking up a storm.

"Hey Mom, what's all this for? Are people coming over?" I questioned raising an eyebrow. My mom only ever cooks like this if there is a family event.

"Oh, hey Sweetie! I offered our neighbors to come over for dinner. The mother is super nice and she mentioned her son was going to the same school as you. Have you met him yet? His name is Miles Morales."

I froze. Miles Morales? As in the Miles Morales who sits next to me in class? No f**king way.

"Y-yeah, we have the same class for first period."

She cheerfully clapped her hands.

"That's wonderful Hon', at least it won't be so awkward. Why don't you go upstairs and freshen up, hm? Be quick though, they should be here soon."

If only she knew how wrong she was.
I ran upstairs and grabbed an outfit out of my closet. It wasn't anything special, I just picked out some black tights and a green sweater. I took a quick shower and threw on my clothes when I finished my shower. After, I sprayed some perfume on myself and slathered on some lotion. I slid on some socks and walked back downstairs after touching up my hair.

I chatted with my mom for a good 10 minutes before we heard a knock coming from our front door. To say I was nervous was an understatement. I was sh*ting bricks and making rivers from how much I was sweating. My mom got up and answered the door. She and Ms. Rio exchanged greetings and started complimenting each other. They started walking in and that's when I saw Miles. He walked over to me while the two adults were busy talking.

"Hey, ma" he greeted me while I stood there dumbstruck. What. The. F*ck.

"Ma?"
