Jay was walking outside on a sidewalk with her bestfriend Grace Jones.

"did you break up with Cayden yet?" Grace asked her.
"no, not yet" Jay said, her voice was in a distressed tone.
"why? he's such an asshole to you" Grace said.
"yeah, he wouldn't let me" Jay said.
"what?" Grace questioned.
"what? is there something wrong?" Jay replied.
"repeat that..?" Grace said, trying to see if she heard what Jay said correctly.
"Cayden wouldn't let me break up with him..?" Jay repeated, confused.
"ding-ding!" Grace said in an annoying tone of voice.
"what?" Jay questioned again, still confused.
"he shouldn't have the authority to tell you what to do, you should have free will" Grace explained.
"i guess so, but it's been like this for forever, or atleast for as long as i remember" Jay said, sighing.
"he's always been controlling of you?? why didn't you tell anyone?" Grace said, she wasn't mad or disappointed, at Jay atleast.
"i didn't know it was bad, my parents did the same thing" Jay explained herself.
"i know, but you should've seen the red flags in Cayden, atleast" Grace said.
"reds' my favorite color, so thats impossible" Jay said.
Grace rolled her eyes. "do you want me to help you break up with him?" Grace asked Jay.
"yeah, please" Jay looked up into Grace's eyes. she knew that if she looked deeper she wouldn't be able to leave, she'd fall in love, she'd have to address the already tons of unspoken feelings between the two. it wouldn't help her.
"alright, lets go then" Grace said, walking up to where she saw Cayden smoking a cigarette by himself.
"Jay! i've been looking for you all day, come here!" Cayden said, his eyes low in a way that scared Jay. the last time he looked at her that way— thats actually gonna stay unspoken.
"hi Cayden.." Jay said, Grace could tell she was anxious, rightfully of course.
they were infront of a brick wall, big enough to hide the 3 with lots of extra space.
"Jay, so i've been thinking of an idea, something we could do" Cayden said, then looking over at Grace "in private" his eyes spoke volumes, shot daggers directly into Graces' soul, but it didn't bother her.
"i've also been thinking of something, and Cayden, i want to break up with you" Jay said, smiling as politely as she could, hiding all the negative feelings deep inside.
"no your not" Cayden said.
"thats not your choice to make" Grace added.
"stay out of this" Cayden's eyes were like dull knives, hurt more then the sharp ones.
Grace rolled her eyes again, this time in a harsh way.
"i am breaking up with you, i- we should go different ways" Jay said, atleast she was putting in effort to seem nice.
"no. your not." Cayden said, grabbing Jay's wrist and throwing her up against the wall. he put his hand down the side of her sweatpants, her expression changed from polite-to shock-to scared. she didn't know what he was gonna do, she didn't know half of what he was capable of.
it was all too fast that neither of the girls had the time to react physically, but their facial expressions said it all.
Cayden moved closer towards Jay, so that their arms were touching, as hers were up against the wall.
Grace went up behind Cayden, putting her two hands on his shoulders and pulling him backwards, he landed 4 feet behind her on the pavement.
he got up, his stare on Grace intensified.
"Jay, run while you can" Grace said, her voice was harsh-toned and rushed.
"no, i- i can't leave you here, with him!" Jay said, her eyes widening in fear, she was worried for her friend.
"its fine, i'll be fine, its just Cayden" Grace said, but Jay didn't leave.
"what are you doing?! go!" Grace encouraged.
"i'll go when i'm certain your okay" Jay said, and Grave knew she wasn't gonna change Jays' mind.
Cayden came up behind Grace, stabbing her in the back with a knife. it came off as shock, pain.
"Grace!" Jay yelled, but she didn't move from behind the other side of the brick wall.
"L-leave Jay, i can't be saved!" Grace said, Cayden already took her inhaler from her pocket so there was no use in trying.
Grace fell to the ground, shrieking in pain.
her last words? "i'm sorry Jay, i- "-she coughed-" I love you" Grace said, as Cayden held up her inhaler just out of her reach.
Grace took her last breath, and Cayden threw her inhaler far behind her.
he turned around and started running towards Jay.
