YOUR POV:

Time passed since the day I first met Ms. Stahlbaum who was my caretaker. I recall a time on my tenth birthday, she gifted me a book with a picture shows a image of a village , far, far away called North Pole. I used to think it's ridiculous at first but you never know if that legend was true, because who really knows much of the North side of the globe. I hung the picture on the felling above me so I can easily drift away to my dreams of ever being there one day. Ooh.. And did I ever mention of the book's tale?

Currently, I'm reading the book in bed. All tucked in comfortably, ready to sleep soon. The nightstand resting on the shelf next to my bed helps me to read the words within the pages.

The story talks about story in which some says is true. A legend in which I take best to heart and reas everyday before I sleep. Esmeralda, a spirit who's said to help the lost, just like me, find and remember their past. Now, some believe that the story of Esmeralda is fake and she could be mythical creature form a fairy tale or is just a made up story.

But others believed that she has once changed the life of other lost peoples lives to change for the better. Whether it was the man who returned to his long lost wife and children he lost as a baby or a girl who wasn't able to remember anything of her friends that she knew and loved so dearly. They're many stories of Esmeralda and her miracles.

For some odd reason, I seem to have this strange connection to her...

I wondered if I ever knew her once...

"Didn't Ms. Stahlbaum ever tell you that your too old for children's fairytale books?"
A hand snatched my book away from me, disturbing me from reading. When I looked up, my eyes met with one of the random caretakers, also my least favorite ones. I glared at her as I glanced away from her.

"What do you want, Angel Dust?"
I asked with a sadistic tone that laced within my voice.

"Nothing really, but I must say, what's up with you and this Godforsaken book?"
Angel complains as she tampers around the books cover and pages.

"Will you stop touching my stuff!"
I yelled,

"Why do you care so much?!"
Grabbing my book from the demons grasp, I placed it on the nightstand. Despite angel's careless treatment of the vintage book, not a single page was damaged or ripped which is a relief.

"Why I'm your caretaker, ain't I supposed to care and look out for you?"
Angels teasing voice is enough to make your my blood boil with irritation, causing me to groan in annoyance and roll my eyes.

"Well, if you care so much about me, you would at least just let me be alone and enjoy my privacy"
I argued as I attempted to lay back in bed and continue reading my book.

"So what? So you can enjoy reading childish books?"
Angel grabbed the book from me again and threw it on floor as if it where her least favorite toy.

"Why can't you do what other 17 year olds do at your age like going to clubs, hitting on cute guys/girls, or doing TikTok's with your friends?"

You ignored her question as you turned you attention back at the book.

"It doesn't matter, I'll be leaving the orphanage tomorrow. I'll be turning 18 anyways"
While I was reading, I couldn't help but feel funny when a dark aura starts to grow in the room as angel went silent.
