A few days after they won The Young Small Business Competition, they felt relieved. They also felt really proud that they won.

Today, at 11.35 am, they are at class, and the lunch bell rang.

Maudie POV:

I walked across the halls to see Ezra sitting alone, on his tab. He was really focused and had an upset look on his face.

I decided to go and sit next to him. I slowly approached his table, trying not to make a sound. I sat next to Ezra.

"Ez... What's wrong?" I asked.

"Oh, nothing." He quickly hid the tab from me, which made me confused.

"Uhm, anyways... Did we get a case yet?" I asked, trying to change the topic because he was clearly uncomfortable.

"Oh, we haven't yet... We really need to work on our promotion." Ezra answered, still a bit distracted.

"Ez, what has gotten into you?" I asked.

"What? Nothing. Why would you think that?" Ezra said, clearly lying.

"Ehm, anyways... Are you not gonna eat?" I asked.

"Uhm, no. I'm not... Hungry..." He said while looking down.

I placed my hand on his shoulder. He looked at me, surprised.

"Look Ez, this isn't like you... It's Friday, your favorite day. It's lunch order day... Don't you want your pizza?" I asked.

Ezra was fiddling with his pen, avoiding eye contact.

"Uhm, no... I'm really not hungry." He looked at me straight in the eye.

"So, what are you gonna do during lunch?" I asked.

"Well, I was thinking maybe I'd talk to you. Speaking of which, aren't you gonna eat your lunch?" Ezra answered, and he also asked.

"Oh yeah." I opened the paper bag and grabbed my lunch order. I started munching on it.

"So, what do you think of the Business Competition?" Ezra asked.

"Look, Ez. We won, and you did great, and that's all that matters." I said, my voice a bit muffled since I had some jam doughnut in my mouth.

"Yeah, thanks." He said, not sounding like he believed or listened to me.

"Ez, you need to eat!" I insisited.

I gave Ezra half of my jam doughnut, but Ezra was reluctant to take it from me.

"I just don't feel like eating. Mauds, could you maybe meet up in our detective agency later after school?" Ezra asked.

"Sure, I don't mind. I don't have any plans today too." I said.

And just like that, the bell rang to our maths class, which made Ezra excited. He ran to our classroom.

Ezra POV:

I ran to the classroom, excited for my favorite subject. It was one way to get my mind off... The thing that was getting me distracted all the time.

A/N: He doesn't want to say it and is hiding it because he didn't want anyone to get worried about him.

I hope Maudie didn't notice any of the clear signs that I gave her. Well, knowing her, there's no way she wouldn't notice, but I guess she decided not to care.

Well, I hope she did. Anyways, I sat next to Maudie and Kyle and Ava, since we're a friend group and all. Although we've divided into duos for a few times. Like Ava and Maudie and me and Kyle. Or Ava and Kyle and me and Maudie.

Kyle didn't understand anything since he's so dumb at math, I'd have to tutor him later when the math test is close.

The teacher was explaining, but I couldn't really pay attention. Instead, I was fidgeting with my pen.

Miss Tan was explaining but I wasn't really interested anymore. That's when I knew I wasn't really me anymore.

After a few minutes of clicking my pen, I realized that I felt really dizzy. I couldn't really concentrate since even if I tried, my head would probably hurt a lot.

I excused myself to Miss Tan and asked to go to the nurse's office. As I felt like the whole world was shaking and I could barely walk anymore.

Kyle, Maudie and Ava looked really worried, but I worked my way to the nurse's office and ended up just fine.

The nurse just said I had a severe headache and needed some rest. My parents got called and they explained that I had a headache.

After half an hour, I returned back to class, still dizzy but not that much. I didn't know why I wanted to go back to class as quickly as possible.

I didn't know why my thoughts were overflooded with Maudie. The way she sat next to me to try and accompany me was so sweet of her.

I entered the classroom and sat back on my seat.

"Ez, are you okay?" Maudie asked me.

"Yeah, just a bit... Dizzy..." I answered, but my head kinda hurt at that moment.

My vision kinds blurred, as I saw my friends' worried faces. I rested my eyes for a moment, but got yelled at by Miss Tan.

"Ezra! You're not your usual self. What has gotten into you?" She asked, a bit furious.

"Sorry Miss." I said, I guess my face looked unwell because Miss Tan asked again.

"Are you sure you're alright?"

"Yeah, I'm sure." I said with no motivation whatsoever.

I rested my head on the table. All of my classmates stared at me. Some with worry, some with annoyance.

Sorry for the chapter being so short, I don't have much inspiration to write a lot. The plot is also confusing.
