"They're our allies, not our friends."

The Austrian Empire recollected. He adjusted the glasses on his son's face himself - the muck's eyesight was only going to worsen as he grew; he had to learn to accept that.

And his son also had to learn to avoid attachments. The Austrian Empire ultimately blamed his once dearly loved wife for the birth of this sick child.

He wished others saw it in his perspective.

"Let the children play... putting barriers will only worsen ties..." Prussia gleamed.

Though, Austria looked deep past that smile, he knew Prussia most likely had some other alternative motive. His son was all too easily influenced - perhaps Prussia knew that as well.

"So, you would like to discuss?" Prussia added, his 's' trailed off.

Oh, the Austrian Empire wanted to discuss a lot.

"Don't mind the children - we shouldn't pull them into our politics..." he continued, attempting to bring Austria back to his attention, as their sons hopped off to another adventure.

But they weren't exactly children. Young and decision-wise stupid - yes, but educated enough to understand.

Austria sighed. He sunk down into his seat. They were previously stood around a table, and yes, they still were... but someone's perseverance was gradually failing.

"If you're worried about something... your son, you could tell me. I can empathise," Prussia quietly suggested.

He smiled once again - that same taunting smile.

Austria would never tell Prussia anything. Not after everything...

The young Austria-Hungary stumbled down the tunnel of carpeted stairs - his glasses unforgivingly slipping every few steps.

"I reached a point in my growth where I feel like I could lead a country," Germany articulated, confidentially walking down the steps till he reached flat ground. "Do you ever feel like that? It looks quite easy, but then it really isn't - you know?"

"It it so..." Austria-Hungary mumbled, his left hand tracing the stair railings down.

"My father says it is tough work - probably because he's getting old. He's gotten quite a lot of support and allyship through flaunting his power," Germany chuckled. He continued to speak and walk - not necessarily paying too much attention to the other. "- well, not allyship. But support."

"That's good..."

Once Austria-Hungary had caught the rhythm of Germany's steps, he was confident enough to look up at the other. Even his sight felt distorted with his glasses perched perfectly against his face... it took several blinks for his eyes to better register Germany's features.

"Hold on..." Germany halted, he turned around to face Austria-Hungary. "How long will you be staying here? If I'm going to show you around the estate a bit I must plan accordingly..."

"Well... my father doesn't plan to stay here any longer than two days..." A-H mumbled and glanced over to his side. It shouldn't be too unknown to Germany that his father greatly despised Prussia a lot.

Unexpectedly, Germany erupted in a contained laughter - his hand lightly beating the side of A-H's arm.

"Oh! Well that's not surprise?" he blurted, bringing himself to a halt. He continued his voyage down the corridor... A-H following along involuntarily.

They didn't speak a lot. Germany took him down corridors, and many other corridors - looping their way around the estate while Germany occasionally jabbered about some painting on the wall, before landing in the same place they began.

A-H wondered whether Germany was ever beginning to feel tired from all the continuous walking... Germany seemed to show no sign of fatigue.

Perhaps it was something in A-H's split mind to always wonder how the other is feeling. Whether there is a meaningful connection, a mutual agreement, or a one-sided relationship.

A-H would say the walk was rather enjoyable, if Germany's expressions matched the aura. But it looked more like a chore or a burden, than an interest.

"Why do you plan on showing me around?" A-H said, bringing up a little more confidence in his voice.

Germany spoke indifferently. "Because my father told me so."
