Chapter 4 Cave

I wake up from the sun managing to shine through my thin curtains. Rolling on my side I'm pained with thoughts from last night. Creepy desperate Josh's attempt of getting laid. My initial thought is to stay in bed all day and morn the crush that was starting to bloom last night. Instead my mother charges in my room with a large wooden tray. She places it down on my lap with a wide grin on her face.

"I made a special breakfast especially for you" she continues to smile, waiting for my response.

It's not like I can yell at her to leave, that I rather sleep than socialise with another human being. But when glancing down at the place I noticed waffles, covered in caramel sauce with strawberries.

"Thanks mum, it looks really yummy" I return a smile.

But knowing my mother she's not just giving my breakfast. When I stormed back to the Hutcherson's and demanded to go home she kept on asking me what was wrong. Of course I didn't tell her, instead said I felt unwell. Mum didn't believe me and tried to get it out of me all night.

Now she's moved onto bribery.

I reach down to cut a slice but she interrupts me.

"Before you eat" she begins, sliding the fork out of my hand "Tell me what happened last night"

Of course there's a caught.

It's not like I'm going to tell my mother her good friends so tried to sex me up.

"Josh just called me a few names" I sigh.

Mums face automatically softens "Aw sweetie, sorry I asked"

"It's fine" I answer sharply, mum gets the hint and leaves the room.

"I know your probably offended but I expect you to be up and around in an hour" she calls out while leaving the room.

I groan excessively loudly.

But my mums right, I should get up. It's not like I suffered an horrendous break up. Just a loser guy that was over touchy.

So I follow my mums orders. I finish my breakfast and shower. I curl my hair loosely and wear a skater dress.

Slipping on my flip flops I brace myself for the outdoors.

The sun is blinds me as soon as I step outside, down at the beach a couple of boys are surfing. Probably Hutchersons, so I make my way down. Hopefully it's someone friendlier than Josh. Indeed it is Alec and Corey, who immediately see me coming across the sand and paddle in straight away to say hey.

Alec gives me a small splash before coming out of the ocean.

"Hey, how are the waves?" I smile, my hand comes up over my eyes to shield the sun.

"Pretty bad, which is a shame since it's such a nice day" Corey pipes in.

"Yeah we were just about to come in" Alec smirks and lodges his board into the sand beside him.

I roll my eyes with a small laugh, I've only just met Alec yesterday and I can already tell he's gonna be one of those so 'cool' guys.

"No we weren't" Corey says confused, Alec shoves his elbow into his side hardly.
