12 months later
Annabeth POV:
I stood on the side of the Princess Andromeda gazing out at the Long Island coastline. I squinted into the sunlight even though I knew I would never be able to see my old home from here. Camp Half-Blood. Just that word brought back a flood of memories good and bad, one figure present through them all. Percy. His sarcastic troublemaker smile still haunted my dreams and his face seemed as clear in my mind as if I had waved goodbye just hours before. It had been well over a year though since our last meeting. Waving goodbye to him as he ran down Half-Blood Hill stopping at the bottom and lifting his hand in one last farewell, messy black hair framing his warm green eyes. My Seaweed Brain. I was woken from my thoughts by a snarl from behind me.
A dracaena leered up at me, teeth bared .
'Lord Kronos will see you now'.
Percy POV:
I slashed through the dummies chest bringing Riptide up in a deadly arc decapitating its head from its body. I moved onto the others thrusting and stabbing in a whirl of death until there were only pieces of abdomen scattered around the arena. I sat down gasping for breath and poured a bottle of water on my forehead the coolness refreshing me before picking up my sword and walking back to the Poseidon cabin. Exhausted I lay down on my bed and stared up at the ceiling. As the gong went for dinner I rolled out of bed and stood up suddenly noticing a picture frame face down in the corner of the room. I picked it up and turned it over. It was me a few years younger beaming from ear to ear my arms round two other young teenagers. One was Grover. Next to me on the other side was a blonde girl with piercing grey eyes. Annabeth. My vision tunnelled. Memories I had desperately compressed flooded into my brain. I roared in anger and slashed the picture in half with Riptide, frame smashing as I threw it aside and stormed out of the cabin.
