Chapter One: Cupcake
You woke up to the blazing sound of your alarm, blasting that wretched sound through your ears at the loudest volume. You jumped up, slamming your hand down on it as you rubbed the sleep from your eyes, only to feel more tired than you already were.
You squinted your eyes when the sun shines brightly through the blinds you forgot to close last night. With a groan, you reluctantly stood up, twisting the rod to close the blinds, sighing in relief when the light was hidden. You grimaced at the look of your room, your depression truly took a toll on you as you looked at the mess, seeing your clothes tossed around everywhere, food and drinks stashed all around your room, and your bathroom trash overflowing.
You shook your head, not having the time nor patience to think about cleaning when you had somewhere to be in a few hours.
You walked into your bathroom, shutting the door as you discarded your pajamas, throwing them in your laundry hoop. You sighed again, looking at yourself in the mirror with a look of disgust on your face. Maybe these workouts weren't helping you, or you were just to blinded by your own insecurities to see your true beauty.
Again, you didn't have time to dwell on that since you had to get ready. You turned your shower on, feeling for the right temperature before stepping in, sighing when the warm water washed over your sore body.
When you finished, you searched your room for some decent, casual, and clean clothes. You settled for some blue skinny jeans, a white blouse and your converse. You put your flannel on before grabbing your keys and phone and heading out the door.
You stomped down the stairs, walking into the kitchen where the smell of bacon invaded your nose. "Hey, Y/n/n." Taylor greeted you, smiling as you took a seat at the table. "Want some breakfast?"
"No, I'm not really hungry." You denied but your sister gave you a look. "What?"
"Y/n, we've been over this. You have to eat at least all three meals a day, food is important." Taylor scolded, pointing at you in a motherly tone or what was known as the protective older sister tone. "Now at least eat some bacon, that's it."
"Alright, alright." You ushered, trying not to smile from your sisters caring side showing. Taylor, herself, did smile, setting a plate with three pieces of bacon down in front of you. "Thank you, Tay Tay." You giggled at the silly nickname you've been calling her since you were two.
"Of course, cupcake." Taylor teased, making you groan. "Oh, come on! It's a great nickname!"
"No, it's not!" You laughed, shaking your head.
"Yes, it is." Taylor disagreed, nodding her head. "When you were six, you decided to shove a cupcake in your face for you birthday, it was hilarious, and you were such a cute baby."
"How do you remember that? That was, like, almost 15 years ago." You chuckled, rolling your eyes playfully at your sisters usual teasing. "I hate that nickname."
"What?! You didn't when you were younger." Taylor poured you a cup of coffee.
You gave her a tight lipped smile. "Well, I'm not young anymore." Taylor raised a brow at your statement, watching you stand up and take the last bite of your bacon. "And I hate coffee." You pushed the cup away, giving your sister one last look before walking out the kitchen.
Taylor furrowed her brows, taking the coffee for herself as she followed you out into the living room. "What's with the sudden attitude?" She asked, her voice filled with caution, she's learned before to never yell at you, especially when the last time she did, you threw a brand new cup of piping hot coffee on her shirt.
She won't make that mistake again.
"I'm sorry." You let out a deep breath, running a hand through your hair as you sat on the couch. "I'm just really stressed about today, I don't mean to take it out on you." Taylor's expression softened, sighing in understanding as she approached you, putting a comforting hand on your shoulder.
"Y/n, I understand. It's okay, I've been there and down that but with singing." She soothed and you had to resist clenching your jaw. "You'll be okay, you've got this. You're amazing and you earned this role. I believe in you, sis." She encouraged, and that sentence made you smile.
You looked at the clock, glancing at the time, your eyes widened. "Oh shit, I've gotta go. I have to be on set in an hour and the drive there is 45 minutes." You stood up from the couch, giving Taylor a quick hug. "Thanks for the pep talk, love you, talk to you later, and uh have a good day!" You rushed out as you ran out the door, grabbing your shoes in the process.
You jumped in your car, buckling rapidly as you slammed the key in the ignition. "First day of set... here I come." You breathed out nervously as you slowly pressed down on the gas, beginning your journey to the Stranger Things set for your first ever acting job.
